Mark and Kimber,

I think you are kidding me. Bonanza was off the air before you were old enough to get up and change the channel. You kids!

Another great Sundaqy night show was "The Twentieth Century" by Prudential, narrated by a young Walter Cronkite.

Your pic is obviously a 1968 national geographic xmas greeting card...I also believe that animal research may have been done in your coach! Thanks for sharing...cloud

Thank you. My wife will verify that I know absolutely nothing about music. I can't even get the hum right.

Ok Ok....yes I barely remember the Osmonds and Sunny and Cher, and know that the Mandrell sisters were on several years later. Yes, I admit that it is possible that I actually remember the reruns rather than the original Bonanza shows.

Didn't Lowell Thomas (High adventure with Lowell Thomas) and Marlon Perkins had a tranquilizer shootout while filming a segment in Africa. I believe Lowell traveled in an Airstream and thought Marlon and Jim were wild game hiding in the bush. Lowell was known as an arm chair video photographer often found lounging outside his Overlander with a cool one in his hand. He was startled by the rustling in the bush which could have been Marlon instructing Jim to tranquilize the large silver beast for tagging. When the dart missed, deflating a tire, the fracas begin. Eventually both Marlon and Lowell were tranquilized and Jim made off with the Overlander that he took back to camp to show Molly. That is where the real action happened, not the tent. The rest of the story may be true to a point, as I remember being told by my great grandfather. I could be wrong, but the Overlander is where all this ties into the Airstream Forums and this incredibly
informative thread.

I always wondered why Molly described the caribou as being silver. I never really understood that part. Now it makes perfect sence. It certainly does explain the fact that love child was named Jim (but went by "Wally") and was well known for being a bit of a roamer with a penchant for ground travel.

Wait for it...you'll get the ground reference eventually.

Man, I should get my facts straight before I end up starting rumors. Steve and Jim were actually brother's rather than renamed. Jim was older and Steve came just a short time later. Right around 12 months after Jim, I believe I remember Molly saying.

Molly claims that both children are Jim's, but I was reading the enquirer the other day and there was a debate about Steve being the love child of either Jack Hanna or "Siegfried and Roy". The enquirer didn't attempt to pick the father. They mentioned that the three animal lovers were rumored to have attended an international rally around 9 months before Steve's entrance into the world. Remembering correctly the artical talked about the rally being in the swamps of Florida that year.

Maybe someone has some information about Molly in her younger days. I haven't heard of Molly having any wild times. It is true she flirts well, but I was always of the impression that this was a survival technique designed to increase her tip cash flow, not a natural disposition.

I always thought Jim and Stever were twins...not identical, but fraternal. You know Jim (Senior) was pretty potent in his younger days.

It was definitely the tent where they were conceived. Molly confessed that the other members of the camera crew thought there was a wild boar in the bushes behind the tent that evening but it was just her at the moment of conception.

The Airstream became their "Love Nest" for future more private rondez vous. Molly said she insisted on more privacy so she could really be uninhibited without fear of the camera crew snickering at breakfast each morning as she waddled bow-legged to the communal table.
