Dinette and travelling
Hi.. new Aistream owner as of Oct. 6! Is it better to have dinette table in the up position or down position when travelling with the trailer? Thanks

This question came up a few months ago, consensus was it doesn't make any diff.
some used a pad under the leg post to protect the floor but that is pretty annul if you ask me.
only thing I've noticed regarding the dinette is when made into a bed and used as such the zippers will leave a mark on the table top, it did clean off though.
We leave ours up.

We have always left ours up. I use a under pad on the table top, when turned into a bed. We also have a rubber mount that the table leg rest in.

We leave ours up, but we also gave Centramatics. Prior to installing the Centramatics, the table bounced down once or twice.

We have always traveled with our dinette in the set up position. We have been doing this for thirteen years. We have logged about 180,000 miles of towing our Airstream and have over 1,900 nights of Airstream camping. We have an LED desk lamp that stays on our dinette table while we are underway.

In the SOB or the airstream the table stays up. I put things that slide under there. Extra drinks bin, day trip cooler, fan, etc. They stay in place that way.

Of course where is your dinette table? Mine have always been amidship. Many are in the back and some have reported a lot of "earthquake" movement back there that shakes them off the wall. If you have one of those perhaps down is better. One of the standards here is everything is a little different.

Hi
What sort of vehicle are we talking about? The table in a 30' Classic is *very* different than the table in a 27' Flying Cloud. Both are nowhere near what you have in a Basecamp ..... Then there's the motor homes ....
