We have a compact portable DVD player. It fits right next to our TV which sits on top of the cabinet just to the right of the fridge.

I custom ordered a complete vinyl floor covering from the front of the trailer stopping at the bedroom(bedroom still carpet) on my 2004 30foot slide out and was not charged any additional. The first floor had soom quality problems but none were caused by slide out. Floor was completely changed by airstream and looks beautiful. I would order the same floor again and I would hope it is available to anyone else who would want it. It certainly changes the look of the unit from a partialy carpeted one.

Keep us in the loop on wear and tear. I know the rollers are there and they do ride on the floor so for your sake I hope the story they told me was incorrect. I asked in September at order time and the Airstream rep (Pate) who was at the dealer's rally was the one who told me no.

I am not sure that there are rollers on tht portion. if you slide out and look under the frame there are none visible and if you feel undr when in there are none to be felt. there are rollers that you can see on the operating mechanisim that is supporting the slide out rails/frame whtever you care to call it but as far as i can determine from what is visible while unit installed no rollers on the inside contacting floor. watch how the unit kind of tips up and down when sliding and that kind of points to no interior rollers.
maybe we can get a answer from AS or we will have to pay attention at a factory tour. i plan on going to factory again sometime this year. maybe can find out.

Hmmm. Interesting since the Airstream rep noted that some of the early slides had problems with those rollers and possibly there was some type of recall to correct the problem. He noted that they were made out of stainless steel.

If I didn't know better I even think I saw some slight depression tracks in the carpet when I extended the slide. I'll check with one of the service guys down here at the show tomorrow and see if he can clarify this.

I can't check my unit out since its up at the storage lot without the batteries. It won't be until the last week of March or so before I bring it back to the driveway to start the clean up process.

I just checked today with the fellow who does the prep work on new units and he confirmed that there are stainless steel rollers on the slide outs. He noted to me that I should see a slight depression in my carpet after I extend the slide. That depression marks the track of the rollers.

Obviously I'll have to look when I get my trailer home this spring or if I'm out at the dealer's in the near future. I'll have to check out the LandYacht here at the show and see if it has the same assembly. Maybe I can zero in on the location better.

Checked My unit today and there are indeed rollers. however the vinyl has been trimmed and is not under a rectanular area that the rollers would contact when sliding in and out. there are no exsposed bare areas when slide out extended. I imagine this is so it would not push/pull , bunch up or what ever when slide out travels. will post pics of floor, if i can will be a trial of posting skills.
carpet in kitchen area was custom made by Airstream when the unit was in for repair . I guess they where protecting the new floor instalation but I really like it and plan on leaving in . but it is removable to clean.

I like the look of the floor! That area carpet with the cut is also neat. Is the vinyl floor the standard pattern like they are using in the 30' models? From your picture it almost looks like its wood.

Did they use carpet for the floor of the slideout dinette?

Yes the dinnette area is carpet covered. the way it wraps over the edges would'nt have worked well with vinyl
