Custom AS fabrication, who does this???
Greetings, and this is not a joke!
I am looking for information on a custom built AS travel trailer that will be a sort of traveling beer vending unit. The AS would have the beer company logo/artwork outside, and inside, house what would probably need to be a formidable cooling system to keep a few kegs of beer cool.
The trailer will be used and need to be shipped to Africa. (Again, not a joke!)
As far as the structure goes, the only mod that would be needed would be a way to load and unload kegs. Recently AS came out with a toy hauler trailer, which could work, but that trailer is 30'. Don't want to go over 25 feet.
Below are some of the guidelines:
1) Size: between 23-25 foot, double, or maybe even triple axel, due to gvwr, see below) This will be pulled with a Toyota Tundra, I assume with the proper engine and differential/axel ratio.
2) Be outfitted to handle cooling 2-4 standard size beer kegs each weighing in at about 160 pounds. Easy access through a securable exterior door to get kegs in or out near the tap section. If powerful enough, solid-state (peltier) cooling might be preferred for light weight and simplicity.
3) easy access to get kegs in or out. Flip up door to reveal a pair of beer taps, possibly sound system, and maybe flat-screen TV.
4) solar power- how much power can you get on the roof? Thinking 100-200 watts of power for battery charging for sound and illumination--not cooling.
5) Generator- on board or external. Main electric needs to be 220 volt, not 110.
6) cost would have to be at or under 100K dollars US.
Is this something I need to get AS involved with or are there custom AS builders that would take something like this on as a project?
Jonathan

hi lev
a/s no longer does 'one off' fabrications'...
the company pres told me they would consider projects involving 25-50 units...
but given how slow things are, anything is possible...
i'd skip COMPLETELY dealing with j/c and focus on concession trailer fabricators...
and there are bunch of these.
Concession Trailers, Concession Trailer, Mobile Kitchens, BBQ Smoker, Trailers
Barbecue Concession Trailers, Vending Concession Trailer, Hot Dog Trailers
Custom Concession Trailers
there are even TWO in the greater 2nd city region, i've done business with both...
having to do with coffee bar / event trailers made from converted 70s streams...
u can find this on yer own, there are a dozen+ doing things near chi town.
a vending/concessions/mobile kitchen fabrication company will have experience with the food service needs (beer IS food )...
like power, water, cooling, counters, service doors, stainless interiors and so on...
sending beer to africa? sounds like missionary work of the highest order!!
cheers

2Air and Goin'
Thanks for your help. Yes this is a mission from god.
I'll try and contact AS and see what they offer.
I thought I saw in ASLife that there might be a few people that do AS conversions. I'll have to look in one of my issues.
2Air- I did a search for the two in Chicago and came up empty. If you happen to slip over on either of these let me know.
Thanks.

Let me know if you need some info on a solar set-up.
I sell and install systems from AM Solar, arguably the best RV systems out there. 2 panels will get you 200 watts, but you can easily go up to 6!
You just need the roof real estate to hold them!!!

Take a look at http://www.airforums.com/forums/f161...html#post65393 and InsideOut's pictures a bit further on. These pics were taken off their website -- but are no longer there.
I might have another picture on my hard drive -- I'll take a look later.
