I picked my name in the 60's. It was a CB handle. I was big and fat then not now. So I picked Hippo.
The name is easy to use.

Resurrecting this thread… I hope you post… there’s more than a few I’m really curious about…

Final Cut Pro is a non-linear editing package on my Macintosh… it’s a hobby… I edit all my home/family movies…

I like puns and wordplay and since I spend WAY too much time using Adobe Photoshop I took 'fotochop' as my e-baye handle and just kept it here...

also, my avatar is my all-time favorite logo and greatest piece of industrial graphics ever (if anyone knows who created this, pm me..) the legendary "mr. horsepower" of clay smith cams...a favorite of hot-rodders the world over...now all I need is a '63 stroked Impala to replace my Tundra ;-)

It is interesting to see how many people here have different user names now, from when they originally posted in this thread.

Needing a 7 digit one number password in the early 90's I used the first two letters of my first and middle names, a couple y's and my favorite number. Amazing how long these "handles" endure!

I've had a bunch of different handles/monikers/screen names over my 2+ decades of using computer message forums and chats. I chose this one when I was an undergrad in college and it's the one that seems to have stuck.

Pretty simple--
University of Texas Electrical Engineer, 1994.

Always interesting to find out tidbits about people from their usernames.

I saw someone who had used the word "alumatube" in one of their posts, and it really fits to describe our 310 moho, so I made it mine.

My standard ID is spitfiresuz, since I LOVE Triumph Spitfires and vintage-race one.

Isadora has been my screen name for ten years or more, I just picked it because I liked it, and then she became a dragon, and the logo for my business, Isadora the beady-eyed dragon. I still use it everywhere.

I've always enjoyed fishing off shore in the Gulf of Mexico, living only 1 1/2 miles from it, for Red Snapper, Cobia, Grouper, Tuna, Wahoo, etc. But my wife, JJ, always would get sea sick. So, we purchased the Overlander. So, over land & sea, we both can now have a good time. I guess she's "Overlander" & I'm "Sea". I think she would like it if I would sale the boat & change the name to Overlander & See.
