Back many many moons ago.....just out of school (1967), I bought my first Corvette.... A blue convertible...for some reason and I cannot remember why I named the car Blucloud.... but the name stuck, hence my screen name 'blucloud'.
If you're wondering what happened to Blucloud.....we've been together for nearly 36 years....many many miles...a couple of scrapes...and a few tickets.

Plopping down on the sofa as a little kid next to mom, she's say, "How ya doin, Bredlo?" It wasn't all that often, but it always stuck out in my mind as a strange thing to call your kid.

Years later as I began signing up for websites, eBay, online banking... I'd need a username that wouldn't be as easy to guess as my name... Bredlo.

I've always liked that name. I know the invenor's nephew ... although my friend's last name is not Zamboni ... his first name is Tony ... so we always called him Tony Zamboni.

Hmm... Porky, you make me think... (Danger, Will Robinson!)

From the Zamboni song to Minnesota's hockey stature, I figured a user name like Zamboni was more likely to be from that direction (and it is). Thru friends in Santa Cruz, your story about Tony does connect to a niece of the founding generation of Zamboni. Of course the niece is now a great grandmother... with her houses in Mammoth, Palm Springs, the 'Beach,' and the 'Ranch.' Last name - Mokler. Ring a bell?

Small world.

I use Gordon Watt because that's what my mommy named me. Since then she has come up with a few other names.

My wife has also called other choice names.

Wink

Mine is because the sd 90 mac is my favorite locomotive. I collect n gauge toy trains, and when I read an article on this locomotive I just liked it. Being a nurse I needed a different type of hobby, and collecting n scale cars became it.

The M & M comes from something my husband's father does. He sends out group letters to all of his sons and their wives, he writes all of our initials at the top of the letter (Dear M & M, J & S, B & H) and then he circles the appropriate pair and sends it off. The Cape come from where we live, Cape Cod.

Then I saw Porky Pig and he's holding this sign so I hope he doesn't mind as I'm not givin it up till we move and the license plate is on the way!

Great thread BTW!

I chose my name because if you speak it into a tape recorder and play it backwards it sounds like tuhnit which in the ancient gnostic language of the Hitittes means absolutely nothing. I can relate to nothing....ergo...Tin Hut

Picked my Forum "name" (66Overlander) on purpose so I wouldn't have to explain what trailer I have when I asked the inevitable "thousand questions". This seemed like a good idea at the time, however, we are already considering upgrading to a newer trailer which could eventually make this name obsolete. Can it be changed and still retain your posting history & "rivet rating"?

In retrospect, I probably should have used a variation of my long used "on line" name "Kodiak Joe", and quite likely will if we ever change trailers and I can change my Forum name (but no need to do so yet). The "history" on "Kodiak Joe" is that about 10 years ago I joined a Fantasy Football League and needed a name for my team. At the time, I was an engineer working on General Motors Medium Duty Trucks, which were named the Chevrolet Kodiak and GMC Topkick Not knowing what a "Topkick" is, my football team became the "Kodiaks" and I for some reason started signing all of my emails "Kodiak Joe". Now most of my "on line/email" names are some sort of variation on this theme.

Joe
(a.k.a. Kodiak Joe)
