Not sure if I answered this one before but here goes. We stalked the forums for several days before we purchased our AS at a dealership 3 hours away. During the drive back after signing on the dotted line we realized we had questions we actually wanted to post. I commented that we needed a user name to do that but I was out of ideas. The whole point of buying the AS was to take our 2 Labrador retrievers with us on trips. I commented that a lot of posters used a play on the design or color of the AS. The hubs thought for a minute and came up with silverlabs and it stuck!

Mine is self descriptive of what I do for a living. And boy have I been able to use a ton of my 20+ years of work based knowledge on the trailer work :-)

Forum name is the name given to our Airstream. First camp out, wife looked at it and said "it looks like a Cannonball!"

Growing up, we moved a lot. Since graduating from college, I've lived in Cincinnati, Miami, Fresno, Phoenix, back to Fresno, and Sacramento. All moves from changes in employment (not running from the law). Nomad seems to fit and 5/18 is my birthday.

Just an evocative pun on AirStream. But not at all unlikely for a tenderfoot.

Quitting your jobs, selling all of your crap, buying an Airstream to live in with two children under 2yrs and you're both under 35. I consider persuing your dreams a bold endeavor. And seeking adventure as a way of life, also bold.

BoldAdventure. It's also a short hand for our BoldandAdventurous which is just how we want to live.

Terry, the name my mother called me, and V, the first letter of the awful family name my dad gave me.

terryV came out that way because I suck at typing.

BASE729 = (B)uilding, (A)netnna, (S)pan, (E)arth. They're the (4) main objects you jump from while BASE jumping (with a parachute). First person to do it in 1980 is BASE1, the second person, BASE2 and so on... Back in 2002, I was the 729th person to jump all (4) qualifying objects.

As a side note, I've been an avid skydiver and BASE jumper for the past 22 years.

The whole reason I'm on these forums is I'm taking a year sabbatical from work and traveling around the Western US (mostly Moab, UT) and skydiving and BASE jumping full time. Base camp will be my new Airstream.

I am a retired Coastie, so the first part (MSTCS) stands for my job as a Marine Science Technician Senior Chief, and the Coast Guard designation of the last ship I was on (WAGB20) which equates to the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Healy. The Healy is an icebreaker that works in the polar regions, both north and south.

What an interesting thread!!

Rhino is my husband's nickname (created from his last name Reinshagen) and 33 was his baseball jersey number. I am just the athletic supporter...

Former amateur ice hockey coach. When I first picked a internet name back in 1995 for a site paicecoach was taken so one of my players suggested paiceman, it was open and I've had it since.

I chose my user name because I like rocks and gneiss (pronounced "nice") is a good, hard, beautiful metamorphic rock. I also happen to be a nice guy.

We had this on our license plates on our two motorhomes prior to becoming Airstreamers, and were able to get the same license for the trailer. We have always thought it was appropriate for people who like to travel without much of a set schedule, and it's drawn a lot of comments over the years.
