I cannot count the time that people asked me "what is your real name"?
My nick-name at work originated from using a cb-radio many years ago. The name just stuck with me and there have been people who knew me by my nick name when they couldn’t remember my real name.

My last name is McIntosh, just like the apple and the 1 comes from being the oldest of 4 siblings.

So, John...which one is you in the picture?

Also, I now understand what the little picture means under your handle in the left column next to your posts -- it's what happens when you touch something you didn't know what it is and it turns out to be electricity! Right?

Mine is from my comptuer id here at work; it's my first initial, middle initial and last name. So, I'm not a doctor <various smutty jokes omitted here >, it's just that my middle initial is "R".

Easy One...

Jabba, short for my last name Jablonski, but yes refering to the Star Wars character. I used to work construction (on my feet ALL day), when I started the job I now have (automotive die design computer jockey) I put on @65 pounds in less than 6 months (hey it happens when you sit in a cave (cubicle) for 10-11 hours a day). So Jablonski became Jabba the Hutt and eventually just Jabba. I'm happy to say I've lost some of the weight!

I am an adoptee and I help other adoptees, birthparents, etc find each other in California when possible. Hence "CA" + "adoptees".

Not usually taken on any other websites.

I noticed the apprentice didn't get the easy ride to the top! Is pole climbing part of the apprentice training?!

pole climbing is part of apprentice training, as is live line work by hand with 20,000 volt rubber gloves.

it took me 13 years to get my own bucket truck!

I once heard Anthony Edwards (of E.R. fame) refer to his Airstream as his "silver love sub". The back of my 22' AS looks like a submarine so I fragrantly plagarized Mr. Edwards. My father-in-law still gives me wierd looks when I refer to it as the LuvSub but I'm sticking with my nautical reference!
