I'm not very creative...

and I needed a user name... I had an '85 325 MH at the time... so... not much of a story, eh?

Longtime User Name for me

I was on AOL from its inception and had to select a working name of AFL MacArt. When they finally allowed up to 5 user names I wanted to convert to my first name of David for off-time personal use only the chief AOL programmer beat me to it. I had an aversion for default names with numbers like David1. So I selected a name to reflect my English/Welsh heritage--Davydd. It is an Anglicized version of the Welsh Dafydd. There is no "v" in the Welsh alphabet. The double dd is pronounced similar to th. Sharon Kay Penman used the name Davydd in her historical novels. You can get me by that name on AOL and .Mac today. But don't bother to try to reach me on AOL. I check my email there once in a blue moon.

:::my first message on the new 15" Mac Powerbook--it goes so well with an Airstream with its new aluminum skin:::

Mine was the personalized license plate on my 1987 345 when I purchased it -- I loved it so I kept it and it became the name I always use.

Cool Thread!

My user name is simple and seems obvious to me. Since our last name is 13 letters long, it's my first name and an initial.

But the really cool thing is I learned two things on this thread I should have known.

1. There are TWO Silvertwinkies! I thought there was one of you and you kept changing your avatar.

2. I met Brett over 20 years ago, in his senior year of high school (my junior year). He didn't play football his senior year, since it was a new school. I knew he'd played football, but I didn't know his number was 64! That's the kind of thing I ought to have known, don't you think?

Thumbs up Cool Thread

I do like learning a little bit about the other folks here.

My user name is a combination of occupation and first initial of my last name. FLYNG is on the license plate of my truck. I also use it to freeze brand our quarter horses to prevent theft. For those who don't know, that would be a G with little bent wings at the top.

Great idea Yukionna! and great name!
My husband and I both have a special love for Japan.

Who's KIMILI?

As you may have noticed from my not too perfect posts I'm a foreigner, Italy and Brazil. If my husband gets to it on time he corrects my oops..
In Italy nobody calls you with your real name. It's always a nickname or most simply an abbreviation of yours, usually only the first two letters or in case it's two consonats you go on until you get to a vowel.

Therefore I'm Li, my husband is Mi and Ki is our husky. Sa came later, so now our business is:
KIMILI SA!

InsideOut Design is my company name...I am an interior designer & my husband is an architect. I felt it was appropriate because we started Maxwell's restoration from the inside-out too.

Nick names and real names

My whole life, people thought this was a nick name so I just went along with it. It is matter of convenience. I cannot count the time that people asked me "what is your real name"?
