Do any of you southern California types know of Lloyd Bonifide?

What's In a Name?

Somehow I had not noticed this thread until today - so now's as good as time as any to chime in.

nvestysly = Invest Wisely

I suppose that can mean many things... invest your time wisely, invest wisely in your career, invest wisely in your community, etc. For me, the first forum I ever signed up for on the web was a financial site so I came up with nvestysly since financial matters are a hobby of mine. I quickly realized that I did not want a new screen name (avatar name?) for every forum I join. In order to keep things simple I use nvestysly for all my memberships.

Wow, that didn't take long, you are right.

Phil is back on the air late at night, but he does not mess with the callers anymore. The characters still chime in from time to time.

I got hooked on the show when I was in LA for 6 months a few years ago.

For those who don't know the show, Lloyd Bonifide was a fictional call in guest to the Phil Hendrie Show, actually voiced by Phil himself. Yes, he had conversations with himself. He would say outrageous things to dupe unaware listeners to his show, and then mess with them on the air.

Lloyd was an old Korean War veteran who drives a huge motor home, and he feels he is justified when he runs soccer moms in mini vans off the road, because they are not respecting his 24000 pounds of Detroit iron by giving him plenty of room.

So many creative names, and I love this thread explaining them!

Guess what my first name is and what my last name starts with. Jeez.
Kind of pathetic but I had no idea what I was getting into with this addictive forum! I love to post, and sometimes wish I was a tad more anonymous.

However the guy who talked me into this silly endeavor has a good one: "Rollertoaster." He loves toast, he loves to roll on out, and of course the Safari looks like a giant toaster on wheels. Plus we live in Santa Cruz county, home of the famous Beach Boardwalk Rollercoaster.

I originally started out as rgodfrey, which showed no imagination at all. I started trying to think of a better name (still no imagination) and Pat came up with SilverCabin. She always wanted a log cabin in the woods somewhere, but now we have a silver one on wheels that follows us around. Somehow that seems better.

My forum name, "BeBop", is based off of the Japanese Anime Series, "Cowboy BeBop".

The series characters (one older & one younger male, and one older and one younger female) seem to echo our family structure and dynamics.

Oh, by the way, our pilothouse sloop sailboat is also named "BeBop" for the same reason.

Go figure...
