Copy of Lifetime Warranty

I keep seeing the lifetime warranty in photos of members trailers here. Mostly in the '60s trailers.

Unfortunately my Ambassador does not have one

Has anyone scanned one of these to a PDF file? I thought it would nice to have it availble for those of us who don't have one.

I need a *lot* of warranty work done. I thought this would be the first step

When I was working on the cabinetry on my TradeWind, I had to take the warranty off the door. It was brittle as h*ll and I ripped a corner completely off. In an effort to keep it from getting any worse, I laminated it, front and back with the edges overlapping virtually sealing it from the elements. I put it back up and covered it with plexi. I'll bet I could get a color scan of it without too much trouble. I'll let you know Tim.

It does have the serial number of the trailer on it along with the then Airstream President, Costello. Also, very lightly written in pencil is the original owner's name, which I can't read. I can read that it was originally sold in Hemet, CA. I believe this has been an 'out west' trailer all its life.

Thanks Brad.

What ever you do don't make your copy worse! It's not worth it. I did not realize they were so brittle, but I'm sure they are.

If it's possilble, great. But don't put your copy in peril!

Out of everyone here who has one, maybe we can come up with a good copy. The serial number can be blanked out. I'll host it or we can host the file here so people can produce their own replica.

Warranty Certificate

I just scanned ours, although it's in a MS Word .RTF file. I dunno how to scan it to a .PDF. I'll email it to you if you like, but it's a big file right now, like 22 Meg. (I think can scan it to a .PDF with some of your guidance!) --dave

Here's a better shot. As you can see, I need a better one too. The laminate is wrinkling plus it has water stains and smears. This can be recreated, we have the technology. I already have the bicycle dude pulling the AS and the borders can be purchased pre-printed on 8 1/2" x 11" from an office supply place. Here's my project for the weekend.

Dave,
I know several ways to get it to PDF...I use PDF Creator or my scanner software (HP) has an option for that too.

Warranty

Here's mine. This is the best quality scan I could get under 100k. If you want a .pdf it will take a few days.

Many versions of the Adobe PhotoShop have a pdf file converter. Look under File>Save As>pdf. I scanned as a bitmap, then opened it in Photoshop Elements.
I just found this out last week while trying to make an archive for a friend at work.
Just a thought,

Tom.

Kind of looks like one of those Eron stock certificates. Wonder if it is still good?

Certificate vs. .pdf file

For those of you who might not have software to convert a file to a .pdf ~ if you go to the Adobe website they have a link posted where you can convert files for free. Must be under 100 mg if I recall. You can sign up and convert up to 5 files for free. If you want more they have a pricing system that is generally cheaper than running out and buying software. You email the image to them, they do their "magic" and email it back to you within 24 hours. Usually takes just an hour or two. I don't think you get any spam or anything (at least I didn't) when going through this process.

I should think anyone would be able to open a .jpg file image... even our really old laptop with windows 3.1 will do that!

I thought I had a image of our "Warranty" that is in our Bambi, but I have discovered that I have been very amiss and do not have one! Glad you thought of it! Thanks.

CaddyGrn,
The PDF Creator I mentioned is a freeware product and installs on you computer as a printer. All you do to convert ANY doccument to PDF is choose print from the menu, chose PDF Creator as your printer and tell it to print. It converts to a PDF and then you save it, email it, etc. I have used the online version but then you have to have internet access and wait...I don't do waiting too well

Got my warranty!

I now have a lifetime warranty

Thanks to a few forum members I now have a nice replica of a warranty that I can hang in my closet.

Of course this is just for the restoration, I'm not going to try and use it....

Well, I'm not sure if I can pull that one off since the trailer is 8 years older than me!

With my hair greying fast over the restoration, maybe they won't notice.
