Well, Twink, that's about the same as me, so perhaps we're typical. (Statistical sampling was never my forte...... ) I'd just like to salute those like Pahaska, who has been posting great information and photos for years in a self-effacing manner, to the benefit of many, as well as the mods, doing such a valuable and vital task behind the scenes.
Nick.

I agree, there have been many folks worthy of lots of karma.

Karma is really variable. New members have almost none and so typically, the longer member has been registered and active, the more karma they have. The range of karma points amongst members is between 0 and 2500 (approx) with most members falling somewhere under 300 (ish).

Karma is a great way to show someone that there post has made an impression on you and has stood out.To me it could be from knowledge gained,a great picture or story or even a little chuckle.
I'm glad the forums have this feature and gives me a good feeling to show someone I appreciate their contribution.

Without access to any data, I would expect the distribution of Karm to follow a Pareto distribution Pareto distribution: Information from Answers.com, where lots of people have a little, and a few people have a lot.

This is probably the way that total posts are also distributed. Data on the number of posts is available from the membership lists, but the data is difficult to import, and I don't want to do the analysis. So there...

Nick.
Nick if you go to User CP at the top of the thread of the you can see who bestowed the Karma upon you (at least I think you can ) Also just as general information, the more Karma you have the more you give in a single gift.

Yup....that's the place to check. The comments are really neat touch too. Of course if you ever get delta karma, those comments are typically interesting too!
