There are lots of good threads with people's opinions regarding clubs here. You may want to do a search using the club names as keywords (i.e. "WBCCI", "VAC", "Good Sam", Tin Can Tourists, etc.) to get an idea of the pros & cons. Just a suggestion, but stay away from the WBCCI name change threads...IMO they really don't pertain to your present question, but you may enjoy reading the passionate opinions of some members.
Thank you, Shari. I appreciate your reply. I'll certainly look up the names you mentioned, and will of course exercise caution in the name change thread. (~wink~)
We have been members of the forums for almost two years and just purchased our first RV this past week end. We joined the President's Club at Camping World (not a real RV club) for the cost savings. We saved enough on the first order to pay for the membership and have since saved even more.
We also joined Good Sam. The cost was low and figured we would save at least the membership cost on campsite discounts in a year's time. There are also product discounts on items they offer that seem to make it worth while for the newbie like us.
We will probably join the WBCCI or whatever the name may be or become because the comeraderie appeals to us. If they wind up not having enough families with children, we may look into another region's chapter or another camping club. The idea of rallies appeals to us and we have attended a couple of forum rallies and really enjoyed those. At this early stage, we are open.
We're members of both Good Sam, and WBCCI. They're different critters. WBCCI for comaraderie and great rallies, and Good Sam for the discounts (which paid for itself on our first road trip). I'll soon be bagging my AAA RV Plus coverage for Good Sam's Emergency Road Service.
I'm wondering about the various rv/as clubs and what the pros and cons of membership may be. Any advice? Which groups do you recommend and why?
Learn from my mistakes. You just can’t judge a book by its cover. I thought I was joining this nice ladies’ RV and drama club.
I won't post the name as I really wouldn't want to hurt their feelings, besides I already paid a year's worth of dues...
What a surprise I got to learn rv stood for (R)eally (V)iolent reenactments of history. Here we are doing the battle of Pearl Harbor. Oh well you live and learn...

LOVE the DRY sense of humor. Coming my way any time soon??? I'd be THRILLED to host any and all of you!! Seriously!!! Have several hook-ups in the driveway!
There aren't enough of the 'DRY' crowd around to suit my taste, so importing seems like an excellent idea!
And, hey you could get a terrific trip to the SW out of the deal!
Let me know!!!! I have a feeling that there are more than a few people I know that I could also invite and make this a full fledged fun deal!!!!!! Seriously!!
