It always cracks me up when I see the media announce that the national average for gas is $3.99...add at least 50 cents to that for what we're paying in California...you know, that place where they are still pumping crude out of the ground and refining in the Northern and Southern parts!!! We make the stuff here and we still pay more than anybody...now tell how that works!

As for travel...I figure it'll only cost us about 6 bucks to get out of the driveway... Then we'll pick outings that are 'downhill'... Or maybe we'll only travel to places we can expect to get a tailwind... When it's time to come back home, our bank loan should have been approved so we can once again fill the tank...

I feel your pain! I've been on the road since Sat. and have gone thru 5 fill-ups now. The last one was $115......OUCH! Towing mileage has been all over the place, with a high of 20.2 with a 20-30 mph tail wind to just over 13 with the same wind square on the nose!!!
