Well I don't own an Airstream yet but I will by the end of this month I hope. Anyway I was looking around the Internet for any information on Airstreams and I came across these song lyrics. I have never heard this song and I can't seem to get anything else on it but the lyrics do seem appropriate for this thread.

driving in our airstream
we're a band on the road
with equipment, roadies, a manager
we've got a heavy load

airstream! airstream! airstream!
get out of my lane!
airstream! airstream! airstream!

on our way to your town
cause you've never seen us play
with our airstream's aerodynamic design
we should be there any day

airstream! airstream! airstream!
get out of my lane!
airstream! airstream! airstream!

airstream is so shinny
and it's made out of aluminum
you can't tell if it's a '64
or an '81

I know that it's American made
So my chest just swells with pride
Then I grab that stainless steel handle
And I pull myself inside

double insulation
diamond tuck n roll
toilet, shower, refrigerator
we're completely self contained

airstream! airstream! airstream!
get out of my lane!
airstream! airstream! airstream!

airstream is so beautiful
we can hardly keep the foxes out
when we round that final corner
we can hear them shout

I agree with Shari. Trailer Park Troubadours.

In particular the song "Way Cool World" Gee now I've got it stuck in my head..."it's a way cool world That we're livin' in It's a way cool world...."

Anyone remember blazing saddles?

I know it's cheeky, but I love the campfire scene

Sorta musical.....

And the musical video is at:

If we can't sing to it we don't play it - that makes the play list kinda short but we sure do have fun singing our way down the highway. We are a whole bunch more discreet in campgrounds. Wouldn't want to get kicked out for horrible noises coming from our trailer. Who says we can't hold a tune..........

A bunch of us moms (about 10 of us) used to take all of our kids (about 25 of them) to a little dumpy campground called Oak Lake in Roselawn, Indiana. It was great because all the kids could run together, but it was small enough that we could see them all the time. We wrote our own theme song to the tune of Green Acres:

Oak Lake is the place to be..
Scum livin is the life for me..
Kids spreadin' out so far & wide..
Dang those skeeters & pass the insecticide!

Great memories there!

...depends on how well settin' up camp went. Sometimes I'm singing the blues, a little rock-a-billy, or classical...sometimes I just need to get lost in some Hendrix...and depending on who is in the next site, a little blue grass (to really scare 'em)

Not to many country music fans out there I like the afore mentioned but I like all kinds of country music the older the better if it will make you cry thats even better . The theme song from RV Today by Mungo Jerry is a good one too...

Do Wop

I am a big Do Wop fan. Down south they call it "beach music." It was also big along the Jersey shore when I lived in Cape May.

I also enjoy New Age, anything by the Neville Brothers, and Brad Paisley on the country side.

This is a good dig on the peps of the AS forums..

I realize the question is what song.....but since you don't have a gun to my melon we'll break it down from categories, naming just one song is toooo tough:

Currently listening to a live version of the Grateful Dead... Birdsong 11/30/80

I'm all over the board in my love for music....
So my favorites in no order.....
XM radio The 64 (old school R&B)
Deep Tracks and Top Tracks on XM (classic rock) is also a big fav..
Traditional Country Music...
GeorgeStrait, Dwight Yoakam, Alan Jackson.. all good
Jimmy to love 'em he gets his own category and station if you have Sirius.... wish XM and Sirius would do a merger....
and last........
I love the 80s when "college radio" was alternative music.... and nobody knew what 'alternative music' was just something a wrinkle in the fabric of society. (Kind of like the roots of Jazz...back in the day....Jazz was a quick left turn off the highway a big break from the norm of the day) This 80s wrinkle and everything before it pre-dates the current corporate pop machine that we now call AMERICAN IDOL........what is this anyway?.......
what are we now?.....what have we become?.....American idiots?

Go see a local band.......look in your local paper.....seriously!
You never know what you may find......maybe a sound that reminds you of a band you use to love.......
before they sold their soul....

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."- Mark Twain

Right now we have three favorites in the A/S parked in our driveway where we go to have a glass of wine and listen and grin almost every sundown.(Thanks for this expanded A/S use idea from the Slowolfs!)
Bob Dylan's "Modern Times"
Madelyn Peyroux "Half the Perfect World"--esp."Blue Alert"
Chris Botti 'When I fall in Love"
