Campground Memberships?

Hello all. My wife and I have decided to take off a year and travel around the US. We discussed for a while the best way to do this and decided that we should get a travel trailer. After careful research we have concluded that the Airstream is for us so we are in the process of determining the best size to get. I personally like the CCD 22 but she is leaning more to the CCD 25; anyhow, that is a whole different issue. The question I have for this forum is about campground memberships. Do any of y'all utilize them? What are the pros and cons? What are the best ones? Any opinions/advise is welcome.

One that I'm using is www.passport-america.com

It's around $45 per yr and there's no contracts. It basicly gives you 50% off of nightly rates.

Some campgrounds have their black-out dates/days that the passport is not valid, but not enough to make a big difference.

While traveling, I arrived about $10 per night w/full hook-ups.
