We did it last September.. Drover from Tampa back to Houston. It really went smoothly. We were quite nervous too but the Airstream tracked perfectly. It was an easy trip with a few great stops along the way. Print a check list before you leave and go over it before you head out. We did not unhook along the way so that was great. Backing in to a space was a little intimidating but after a few tries it was fine.
Good luck, do t worry to much. You'll never look back!

My favorite method of Winterizing is to tow the trailer to Florida for the Winter...

Love your writing style FC! Look forward to more in your blog. May your travels be safe and trouble-free. Well, almost trouble free. Maybe sort of trouble-free. Ah heck, just have fun!

Safe travels FCStreamer! We just picked up our 16 FC25reartwin in Tampa, last Monday and spent a few nights near the dealer in Dover and at Fort Desoto near St. Pete. Good to stay close to the dealer as we had a few hiccups and had a Voyager installed after realizing the add on mirrors are a liability! Love it and you will, too. Back at home on Lookout Mountain and looking forward to Wyoming, Montana and Idaho later this summer!

Thanks all. I've been updating the blog at

http://www.ourflyingcloud.com/

as we make our way back home to Florida. Haven't been able to write much but have posted some pics. Today I'll be washing my Airstream if I can muster the energy. Two more days until we get home!

Interesting post and blog FCStreamer. Glad to hear the purchase all went well and that your on the road. We're planning a trip down the Eastern Seaboard next fall. So we might actually be covering some of the same country.

Good luck with the new adventure and with luck our paths will cross at some point.

By the way - how does one subscribe to your blog so we get a notice when you update it?

Thanks

Doug

Great question. I don't know. I'm using the Google Blogger platform and haven't figured out all the gadgets. I'll look into it and report back.
