60 more firms move jobs, work out of California

By JAN NORMAN
THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER

I feel you all of you. It may be too late to recover as your manufacturing base is fleeing.

Carl Jr. is building like crazy here in Texas. I believe they are considering moving their Headquarters here.

Found this on the California State Parks web site:

Through AB 1478, the parks that were on the original list for closure receive priority for matching funds. Director Jackson noted the plan to close the 70 parks is in the past, saying: “If a future budget situation should require a reduction plan, I assure all that we will develop a new plan in an open and transparent fashion. The 70 park closure plan is not our plan for
moving forward.”

Also, I know MB Strand is still open as well as Limekiln.

Besides a "temporary" sales tax increase, State Parks disclosed that they had several $ million stashed away in accounts only they knew about.

Yep, money found. From a so called "secret" fund.

Similar dodge here on the East Coast. Our distinguished former governor (and current us senator Tim Kaine) declared that the budget was in such a sad shape that we needed a tax increase immediately, and to underscore how desperate we were, he closed our interstate rest areas.

As luck and good governance would have it, he term-limited out shortly thereafter and then the highway department found untold millions in their slush fund. It was just misplaced, you see. If he didn't know about it, he was asleep at the switch. If he did, then he is well placed in DC now, as just another crook.

I suspect the "secret fund" was actually lobbying dollars that were used to push public fear and to get the tax increase passed. Ahhhhh, I love my State.
