Buy 35 acres of land, get an Airstream for free!
I saw this and I couldn't NOT post it.

Unfortunately, the land is in the middle of nowhere (Fairplay) Colorado without any trees and anything pretty to look at, but at least you can move the trailer.

I think it looks gorgeous - seriously! Sparse, gently rolling foothills off in the distance. I might hang myself from boredom after a few months, but living in the over-congested area around Chicago... that looks like a vacation to this city slicker!

I just saw four acres in Vermont. Comes with an airstream and a garage to park it in for the winter.

I recently bought a place in the middle of nowhere..
They say it is easier to go from a slow paced lifestyle to a fast one,
than versa vice. I don't know how I would fare if I was out in the boonies alone, but I keep great company, and I have a hard time leaving
my " campground ". Last weekend was really wild. Two cars drove by!!!!

that's a riot--I was just out in Fairplay in July with my Mom--she's from there and wanted to do family research.
I may have seen that Airstream--we did a lot of driving around.
It's actually pretty there--if you like that sparse terrain--and the mountains are gorgeous.
there is, unfortunately a lot of development happening--weekenders building huge "cabins" and buying "ranches"

Looks like it would be isolated in the wintertime because of heavy snowfall. Not sure that would be to my liking. Wonder what the elevation is.

Not shure if I really found the exact place, but google earth says about 9380 feet... The bright spot could be the Ambassador...

Fairplay is at almost 10,000ft. Winters are harsh out there and very windy all year, since there are few trees in the area. Blowing snow and whiteout driving is a big problem out in the treeless portion of the area, also known as 'South Park' (yes, like the TV show). The entire area is a high altitude plain, most of it higher than 9,000 ft.
I wouldn't mind some land in the area, but it would have to be in an area with some trees and topography.

As Westfalia states, the area has a great deal of open space, thus the term "South Park". There are some scattered areas with trees. The terrain is rolling grasslands, all above 9,,000 ft.. Snow accummulation is fairly light staying mostly in the mountains, but winds make temps feel much colder than they are. There is some world class trout fishing very near. Three forks of the South Platte river flowing toward the North, North East, dump into reservoirs. Spinney Res. is the best known because it produces some trophy trout. The area is well located to access the heart of the Rocky Mtns..
