We've been watching and looking and now I can't believe it but we bought a Gulf Stream MH today. We haven't actually made the transfer of title yet but we made a down payment with a signed contract. Was looking as far away as TX; seen more than one we thought about and found this one only about 2 miles from our home.
I never thought we’d make a switch to Some Other Brand but it looks like that’s what is going to happen now. Its 37 foot long, with the extra wheel in the back. Even looks somewhat like an A/S; at least it’s got part of the same name! Does that allow me to stay on this forum?
I do have a few questions now about towing a vehicle. I was wondering what to do in order to tow a rear wheel vehicle (PT Cruiser). Does anyone else have a set up that is similar? I was wondering what the best option would be. I don’t want to rack up mileage on the car while towing it anyway.
Re: Pt Cruiser, as big as your new motorhome is you may be able to drive the PT into the basement storage compartment, if that does not work look into a tow dolly.
Ps is it Aluminum? If so you can strip the paint off of it and polish it!

I thought the PT cruiser was based on a Neon, and therefore FWD.
If it is a stick, there is no mod for 4 down towing, if you want the speedo to not accumulate, there should be a fuse to pull to stop it. If it is Auto then there are a couple of choices. Tow dolly or a remco lube pump. I don't know if a driveshaft disconnect is available for it or not.
Also check the manual for the PT cruiser. If it can be towed 4 down with an automatic, some Chrysler products can be if you do a magic dance with the gear selector before towing.
Get a braking system! The chassis will be using the brakes to stop itself, adding 2500-3000 lbs of PT Cruiser pushing it will make stopping distances longer. Not a fun time when some idiot swoops in front of you and jams on their brakes to make a right turn.

Just like I stated in Stef's thread, it’s all about getting out and meeting people and having a good time. The name near the door means nothing in reality when it comes to making new friends and meeting people.

A camping friend of ours tows a PT Cruiser four wheels down. Had to add a lube pump. It works great for him. A small car with lost of hauling capacity, and comfortable for four people.
That is what I would rather do. Do you know if he can tow it without the odometer registering?

Certainly have a lot to learn driving it though. Just a bit larger than what I'm used to; there are lots of little things to learn about. Kind of like when I first got an A/S.

PT Cruiser is a FWD transverse engine car, like the Neon, and even the Caravan. If you buy an automatic version, you will probably need to get a transmission fluid pump so you don't burn up something vital inside. You CAN get a tow dolly, for $500-700.00, and just drive the PT up on it. That figure seems to be about the same price you would pay for the fluid pump, installed, unless you get a "deal".
