Bolster replacement

Like similar ones, our Flying Cloud FB has a fat bolster just inside the entry door to the left behind the dinette back cushion. Seems to be a waste of space that could be used for storage as in the Classic models. The Classic model has a chair storage cabinet there.

So I plan to fabricate a storage cabinet, case, bin, trunk, or something to replace that bolster. Has anyone taken on a project like this? Or maybe found something ready made that would work and look right? I want it to look like it "belongs".

Nope, but that's a great idea... Ours has white laminate throughout. As long as you match your surface finishes, it would look like it belongs... if laminate looks like your choice, don't be scared of it, laminate is pretty easy to work with.
