Being a Newbie and all....Outdoor camping rugs.

Don't know if you get what you pay for on these. I have seen some for as much as 150.00 and as little as 69.00.

I like it to be durable and be able to pack it small. Are there certain materials that are better? Or ones to stay away from ?Any ideas or brands? Links would be helpful. I need to get a mat before our next adventure.

BTW, our awning is about 15' feet across.

Thank-you,
SHane

this thread COVERs the patio mat issue nicely...

and includes some FUN stuff too.

also see post #4 in that thread for MORE threads on this topic.

the camping world products (they carry 3 brands) in 9x12 are generally priced around 50-70$ and work very well.

the higher priced version (~120$ is NOT 2x more durable)

cheers

Howdy from Texas......Try Garden Ridge, Target, Home Depot. I got a really nice big piece of indoor/outdoor carpet when the school across the street replaced some almost new carpet. It's easy to throw away something that is free when it gets a little raggedy! Camping in TEXAS.....ain't it GRAND!!!! Adios....C&S!!! TAC TX-42

We have a mat that is woven nylon. They come in many colors and designs. We like it a lot better than the 20.00 Wallmart rug we started with. This new one is light to carry, easy to clean, and dries in no time with a little wind. I do suggest you get one with the carry bag (extra 10.00 I think). The woven ones will pick up sand and dirt that seems to fall out while traveling but it is still much better than the old rug. I think I paid $85.00 with free shipping on ebay. Dig around a bit you will find one you like.
