Bathroom Vent Problem

I have a leaking vent in the bathroom of my 1978 Argosy. I can look up and see the trees over the coach "from the inside". There doesn't seem to be a cover over it on the outside. How is this supposed to be and how can I fix it. Judy

There is a bezel on the outside. Under that bezel is a gasket that goes around the actual pipe. Thats has rotted away.

Thank you so much. I'll try to get that ordered. First I'll get a bucket to put under the vent and hope my floors are not damaged too badly. This snow and ice is getting me down. I want Spring so I can play with my trailer.

You need to cover that from the outside till you can get to it. The water will get between the inner and outer skin and make its way to the floor through the wall and you will never see it. That is probably the single most common place to leak and cause undetected floor damage.

The outside piece should be held down with 4 screws. take it off put a piece of thick plastic down and bolt it back on over it to make a sort term repair till you can do a proper one.

Check all the floors at the walls in that end of the coach and if its wet. Leave cabinets and access pannels off so it is exposed till it can dry out. If its dry out might want to open up the coach to get the humidity down till its dry to prvent mold and mildew forming.

Thanks for the information. Now all I have to do is find a way to get on top of the coach and cover that. And I thought this might be simple. It's supposed to rain and snow here this afternoon and I'm at work and going to another city this afternoon. I did put the bucket down, but no telling how long this has already leaked. I guess I should be thankful I saw it leaking yesterday as the snow melted and thankful I found the forum with people like you to help me.
