Bambi question from new member

I just joined this website and have found it to be very welcoming and informative. I'm interested in purchasing a 19' Bambi and am a bit confused about the differences in the various models. I would very much appreciate help in explaining the differences between the International and the Flying Cloud (Safari). Thanks very much in advance.

The difference is largely just interior decor. Both the International and Flying Cloud have a polished aluminum interior skin. The main difference is the appearance of the furniture; “modern” in the International and “traditional” in the Flying Cloud. I suggest you spend some time looking at photo gallery pictures at Colonial Airstream.

The floorplan of both is identical and is also the same as our 2002 19' Bambi. It is very functional which is probably why it has not changed. The differences between the models is mostly what might be called "cosmetics." That is, the cabinets, countertops, and floor coverings are different. I would suggest visiting an Airstream dealer to see what you prefer. There are also important cost differences!

I suggest you travel to Sanders RV in Alachua. They are an AS dealer and very knowledgeable, family owned business. We have our AS serviced there, although we purchased it at another dealer. Easy to get to and last time we were there, they had just received several new models. Just call before you go to make sure they have the size and models you are interested in.

Thanks very much for the quick replies. I actually did visit an Airstream dealer, looked at both models, and saw the differences in the interior decor, but I couldn't understand why those differences, which didn't seem to be significant, would result in the price difference. Unfortunately, the salesperson who showed me the trailers was unable to explain this, and a number of other things, to me. (That in itself was a surprise). In fact, I've learned a whole lot more by joining this site than I did from talking to her.
One other thing I noticed was that the 20' Bambi I looked at, in addition to having a larger kitchen area, had what appeared to be a heftier frame. Is this something worth considering?

Thanks for the info Andi. I will indeed check out the dealer in Alachua, which, by the way, was not the one I already visited.
