I have to update on this. A few weeks back I traveled up to Tampa to the RV show and took Alumination. On the way, I was startled by someone blowing the horn. I thought something was wrong and then I realized that they were waving on and with thumbs up. They certainly have a unique shape on the road. Ehh, iconic like Harley right?

My wife had been asking for an RV. I told her the only way we would get one was if we found a vintage Airstream that I could polish. We bought the 1961 Overlander and I love it. We have only been able to use it twice so far, but each time it has attracted people at the state parks. I love it and would not trade it for a new one. I enjoy showing it off and I can't wait to put a mirror shine on it.

Over the last two years every time we take it out some will ask to see it. there are two times that stand out. the first time we were turning into a Burger King and I noticed people on the sidewalk looking at us ase we tunred in so I waved at them but got no responce. I relized they were looking at our Airstream. The second time, there was about eight of us WBCCIers at an Ohio state park together. A young couple was walking by and looking at all the Airstreams, they had never seen so many in one spot, they asked if the big red numbers were rental numbers. I explaned about the WBCCI, that peaked their interest and they ask to see inside. I was happy to show them because I had just finnished renovating the inside of our 1987 25' Soveriegn.

A sportswriter once wrote the NHL plays 82 games to eliminate the Maple Leafs from the playoffs. At least they don't have as dumb a name as the Denver team.

The Airstream is sold; a 2016 Nash 24M replaced it.

I'm only embarrassed by having my AS sit in the yard so long during restoration! The neighbors ask, "So, are you going camping in it this year?" Ouch! Once the 8 inches of snow melts off and I can finish the interior painting job, I'll get her hitched up!

We have only had the Albatross out five times since her maiden voyage the end of July 2012 and we get constant comments, stares, people walking around her at all hours making comments to themselves and requests to look inside. We don't mind it a bit but drives the dogs nuts. Kind of fun to listen to what they think they know about Airstreams....heck, I'm still learning every day.
