Anyone heard of Santa Ana Trailer Club?

Bought my first Airstream about a month ago. Finally unpacking the previous owners belongings. It was an estate sale and the kids didn't want to dealwith more stuff. Under acarpet piece in the closet I found severalposters for the "SANTA ANA TRLR-CLUB". Not sure the age but would guess 70's. Wouldbe cooltoknow if it still exists. Google indicates little. Did find what lookedlike a recent donotaionlist to a localcollege that the club donated to.

kenaldo,

Do you have a state to go with the city. How about Santa Ana, CA, what college?

The trailer has been in Colorado for 10-20 years but originated in southern CA. So state is probably CA.

20 years ago is about the time they changed the name from Santa Ana Junior College to Rancho Santiago Community College. Any other information, a 20 year old trailer club is probably long gone by now.

Kenaldo,
Can you give us any other information from the posters or the donation list, any names, dates, items donated, picture of the posters, etc. I have taught for Santa Ana College for 30+ years and maybe able to find out some information.

You have all the info I do. Poster just simply has the nameof the club on it. The donation list I found online and is linked in one of the posts above. I think it was from 2005.

We use to live behind that school twenty six years ago. Everything there has changed and I am sure there is no club like that there now. In the years gone by that area was a wonderful place to live. I grew up in Garden Grove, CA the town next to Santa Ana and when I was younger there were orange groves and farms all over the place.
We are living in Monument, CO now and loving it!

Head Slacker

My parents were charter members of the Santa Ana Trailer Club. It started out as a small group of common folk with rather small travel trailers - most in the 16' range. This all happened around 1957. The club grew fast, too fast for most. Incorporation, bylaws, etc. etc. etc. As many clubs today, they lost sight of their purpose and became too focused on rules or order, bylaws, penaltys, fines, etc, etc. etc. We used to meet at the lawn bowling clubhouse by Santiago Park. Most charter members dropped out because of internal bickering. Need/want more info e-mail me.

Bill Kerfoot: please contact me verburg@riolink.com I believe we grew up together in Santa Ana in the 50's & 60's. Went by John then.
