Anyone going to JC soon?

Im sure this is a long shot but its worth a try Our AS is literally on the assembly line right now, started on Monday the 18th. We would love to go see it but DH is too busy with work and it's a 7 hour drive from our home.

If anyone is going soon we would love to hear any info on our trailer. Offline date is the 26th.

Just in case someone can go ours is the international 30 in serenity with deleted skylights and dual a/c's. Last name Hughes.

Thanks.

If we had to build another one, we'd delete the skylights too - they leak after a while and let in way too much heat. We hope someone can take pictures of your baby being built - we were fortunate enough to see ours on the production line for a whole day and it was great!

Thanks y'all. I am tempted to drive up on my own but what I thought was a 5 hour drive is actually about 7. So I'm letting that go.

We haven't lived in the south for 18 years now. In a few weeks San Antonio will be our new home. All our family lives in the south so reality is we will spend a lot of time in the southern heat. We had skylights in a house before and they definitely heated up the rooms. It just hit me one day to ask about deleting them in the AS. We ordered it on May 12th, it's been tough to wait this long but this AS is very close to perfect as far as meeting our needs. Actually if it was free, then yeah, perfect!

I called AS on Friday and left a message. When we bought our house the builder gave us a photo book of the building process. AS should do the same. At least for the trailers that are already sold to customers. I'm going to ask if they can snap a few photos for us, worse they can say is no.

Hi smhx4, ours should be a couple of weeks behind yours, and we're getting excited, too.
When I spoke with Glen Thomas in early June about ordering a 30' Serenity, he mentioned that he had recently ordered two of them for his inventory; he also mentioned that a customer had placed an order for one two weeks or so prior to that, and that they had deleted the skylights....so that would be you! (Good decision on the skylights, by the way). Anyway, due to some time pressure, I went ahead and put my name on one of the ones he already has coming.

We raised the kids in St. Louis, and have done business with Bill Thomas for several years. We're full-time RVers; usually spend the winters in Texas, summers in west Michigan, and pass through St. Louis in the spring and fall; Bill Thomas is our Airstream dealer, and we've been pleased.

And, insofar as seeing yours on the production line, I can certainly empathize with how you must feel. However, having made the "pilgrimage" myself last year to see this one (28' FC), trust me, being allowed to spend a few minutes with yours (while on the factory tour), is really more trouble than it's worth....

Hello to you fmrcaptevil... Congrats on your new serenity! So what options did you get on yours? Our favorite feature is the L lounge in the ultra leather, it's so comfortable which is something AS's are not really known for. We were hooked within 10 seconds of walking into BT's serenity they had in stock. We also went for the convection oven. The main reason being the two extra galley drawers you get. We tried to think long term and full timing, those drawers would come in handy for sure. Then we went with awnings all around, loved the striped pattern, and a converter, not sure how handy that will be but did it anyway.

If BT's had the convection oven and more importantly the second air, we would own it now. But the wait will be worth it, got a few extras by getting a 2012 and won't have the skylights.

Next week will be crazy for sure, movers coming to pack the house and hopefully taking delivery of the AS. Got some great towels at Target for the bath and some cherry blossom patterned corelle for the kitchen, to go with the asian theme and because I love pink!

Talked to AS today and they are a little behind, last Deb heard the trailer was in the electrical section and it may be the 28th. She's double checking and will get back to me.

Took me too long to post.....

That's good to know. It's just I didn't think we would by a new AS, let alone order one. I won't say this is the last trailer we will own but we certainly hope to have it for many years. Seeing it during the building process just sounded fun.

I bet AS will be making the serenity for years to come. They seem to be well liked.

Yes, we saw the same one and rejected it for exactly the same reasons! I also agree with what you said about the L-lounge. (Last year we traded an "FB" for this one, and one of the reasons was to get more comfortable seating). We've also found that the convection microwaves are far superior to the propane ovens. My wife likes your decorating ideas!
