Thumbs up Another 6 star~

While traveling back from my recent vacation, I followed a neat looking A/S over the Bay Bridge/Tunnel complex~
I had planned on stopping at the first rest area for a quick lunch~Since I saw the A/S'er pulling in as well..I went over to make the introduction~
WBCCI #14112, SIX STAR GENERAL~
What a delightful couple.. Airstream'ers for 31 yrs~
It's always a nice treat to meet up with a couple as such..
Told them about this forum..
We exchanged calling cards and, to boot I even got a slice of homemade pound cake..
Thanks again Mable~
ciao

Sometimes, they're closer than you think . . .

Lorrie's parents are working on their eighth star . . . I know, because they joined the club when they originally bought our '66 Overlander (38 years ago!) and we recently attended the WBCCI International with them, so they're still in the the club collecting stars. Oh yeah, they're nice folks, too.

I think three stars on each side of the round doda is a three star. One for each decade. So eight star is a four star. Five is max, for now. There is a couple who are charter members and they are still out there towing or so the rumor goes. Now they have some story.

Stars are for every five years.
Hence, 38 years working on eight stars and six stars for 33 years working on the seventh star, (35)

So one could have four on one side and three on the other. So the trailer at the Regional with 8 stars was a 40 year guy.
That's what I get for not doing my research to the source. I'm surprised there aren't more stars on trailers if it only takes five years to get one.
Thanks for the correct info.

They are Bert and Vera Leuch. I've met them several times on the road, and they are awesome. She wrote an interesting little book, but I think they may have sold out of them.

They look for places to stay that have nice swimming, because swimming is one of their passions.

There was an interview with them in the premier issue of Airstream Life.
