He sent me a PM last night. Said he was offered a job in the computer dept. at FLEETWOOD. Before allowing him through the door, though, they required him to refrain from discussing Airstreams with anyone and strongly encouraged him to trade in his trailer for a more "conventional" style.

FLEETWOOD hopes Twink will lead a new forum like airstreamforums.com which will be orientated towards the "white box" crowd. They provided him with some Microsoft software and a Dell server. They are hoping his excitement regarding Airstreams will be transfered to conventional "stick and staple" RVs like the ones Fleetwood makes.

The new job comes with a large infestation of viruses, spread out over hundreds of GATEWAY computers that all need to be fixed, so he's gonna be a busy boy.

I guess money talks loud, it would take a lot of dollars to get me to go to a different brand RV. Maybe I have been wrong all along, I truly believed in my heart that Airstreamers were unique and stood fast to what they believed in.

I would be the first to admit that there are many SOB's that are very appealing but they are definitely not AIRSTREAMS!

If only if only if only.... as Smily so aptly put it. Man again I find myself in agreement with the ol' King o' Karma, Lord it must be the spring pollen count.

I sadly recall that just days ago Twink was warning us that he'd have 5000 posts soon. ...... Hell I thought he already did!

So woe be it but I must choose to put my dream back in the drawer and not be an April fool over this.

One thing Twink (and summerkid) have given me, is the knowledge of why Chicago is called the Windy City. I just didn't know the air was so hot.

A few folks have the new URL, heck a buch of you have seen it in the past. It's just going to be going through some changes. Monday is day one!

I am finding thought that quitting cold turkey here is kind of difficult.

Vatican announced that the Redmond software giant will
acquire the Roman Catholic Church in exchange for an
unspecified number of shares of MICROSOFT common stock. If
the deal goes through, it will be the first time a
computer software company has acquired a major world
religion.

With the acquisition, Pope John Paul II will become the
senior vice-president of the combined company's new
Religious Software Division, while MICROSOFT senior

invested in the College of Cardinals, said MICROSOFT
Chairman Bill Gates.

"We expect a lot of growth in the religious market in the
next five to ten years," said Gates. "The combined
resources of MICROSOFT and the Catholic Church will allow
us to make religion easier and more fun for a broader
range of people."

Through the MICROSOFT Network, the company's new on-line
service, "we will make the sacraments available on-line
for the first time" and revive the popular
pre-Counter-Reformation practice of selling indulgences,
said Gates. "You can get Communion, confess your sins,
receive absolution -- even reduce your time in Purgatory
-- all without leaving your home."

A new software application, MICROSOFT Church, will include
a macro language which you can program to download
heavenly graces automatically while you are away from your
computer.

An estimated 17,000 people attended the announcement in St
Peter's Square, watching on a 60-foot screen as comedian
Don Novello -- in character as Father Guido Sarducci --
hosted the event, which was broadcast by satellite to 700
sites worldwide.

Pope John Paul II said little during the announcement.

The deal grants MICROSOFT exclusive electronic rights to

instilled with Catholicism, whether or not they planned to
use it. Today Christianity is available from several
denominations, but the Catholic version is still the most
widely used. The Church's mission is to reach "the four
corners of the earth," echoing MICROSOFT's vision of "a
computer on every desktop and in every home".

Gates described MICROSOFT's long-term strategy to develop
a scalable religious architecture that will support all
religions through emulation. A single core religion will
be offered with a choice of interfaces according to the
religion desired -- "One religion, a couple of different
implementations," said Gates.

The MICROSOFT move could spark a wave of mergers and
acquisitions, according to Herb Peters, a spokesman for
the U.S. Southern Baptist Conference, as other churches
scramble to strengthen their position in the increasingly
competitive religious market.
