"Big Fish"

It is a new movie currently playing, it had an A/S in it. Not sure what time period it was portraying, probably 50's or 60's.

Earlier tonight I watched a movie on Showtime titled "Just a Dream". The setting was a small western town in the 60's where a movie crew came to film "The Misfits", starring Marilyn Monroe.
There were nice shots of 4 or 5 Airstream "dressing rooms". Marilyn's was an Overlander.
The movie was directed by Danny Glover and it was shot on location in Salt Lake City.
Very good flick IMHO.

Rog

P.S. It will air again on SHO3 Mar 11 06:15pm EST and Mar 14 07:05am EST.

Leaving Normal

That was probably my favourite movie starring Airstream.
Not just b/c the A/S was in it---and had such a good part...
but,,,because it was the whole reason there is a Bear and Cat.
and the story about 'leaving normal'...is exactly what I have done,,,LEFT "NORMAL"...
......you know what everyone ELSE thinks is "NORMAL"...
that's when it's just right for me!

By the way, that movie (for those of you who have seen it, or who will see it), is filmed mostly in British Columbia---and in one scene where the cute chubby little gal is fired by her boss (she's the one who marries the rich Texas oilman, and gives her Airstream to the other 2 women (Christine Lahti & Meg Tillis) in a campground -- & the Airstream sits on the edge of the lake at night with the lanterns all hanging from the awning, and the campfire & lantrens glowing across the lake --- with the moonlight---
WELL...I digress...I loved that movie...
but that restaurant where the gal got fired and where the truckers stopped, and the other 2 gals hooked up with them too; well that was "Dick's Burgers" near Samish, B.C. (up Howe Sound toward Whistler)...and they served the WORST burgers I've ever had (maybe better now?---one can only hope).

I have a folder for my plans,,,and the label reads---"LEAVING NORMAL".

I watched the story of Natalie Wood the other night on TV and there was an early '60s A/S on the indoor set. Looked like a GlobeTrotter. Not your regular movie at the theatre but a movie none the less.

Sort of a movie

This would be my choice if I were to surf Nova Scotia (which I'd love to do)... http://www.surfline.com/video/index.cfm (Third photo down on the page)

Fox TV Wonderfalls

Have any of you seen the new Fox TV show Wonderfalls? The main character lives in an Airstream trailer which she likens to living in a Genie bottle. The story is a little odd, but fun and worth watching if only for the occasional glimpse inside her "rad" trailer.

I don't know about Big Fish (haven't seen it yet).

On a somewhat related note though, there is a scene in The Fast & The Furious with an older Airstream in it. It looks like one from the early 50s, good condition; the main character even goes inside the trailer for a little bit, and there are some shots inside the trailer. Has anyone else seen it?

I saw Big Fish, but I don't remember the Airstream. Was it at the Carnival?

Yes. It was the trailer being rocked back and forth by Danny DeVito - in his evening/night form.

Wow, I usually remember every old trailer I see on tv. I'll have to watch for that one next time. Good movie, BTW.

That whole movie (Big Fish) was so fantastical that I coudl see WHY it eluded me!

This wasn't in the movies, but the other day I was in a furniture store and there was a music video playing on several of the TV's. Female artist, don't know the song or genre but there was an Airstream featured rather prominently in it.... Later model....

The trailer is near the end of the Circus scenes. On the night before Edward Bloom finds out about Sandra's whereabouts from Amos Calloway (Danny DeVito).
