Movie with Alan Alda and Carole Burnett?

So I am driving myself crazy trying to remember a movie I saw many years ago. I believe Alan Alda and Carole Burnett starred in the movie. It was about a couple who got lost in the woods in a Classic Airstream MH. Am I right about this? Anyone know the name of the movie? Thanks!

Bob

Here's the link at IMDB. I don't remember an Airstream in the movie, but it's been a long time since I saw it.

I believe it was Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen in that movie. I remember the Airstream in the movie. They got stuck in a snow bank and couldn't be seen from the road. They were low on food also. Predeta

Hate to say that I watched the remake of Red Dawn (because the original was awesome) but there is either an Argosy or an Airstream they rummage through for supplies

Flying cloud in new Eagles documentary

Just saw the new Eagles documentary (which was awesome). Its 3 hours long and in about the last half hour there is a scene where they are sitting playing in front of about three Airstreams, one of which is a Flying Cloud.

Maybe you guys will know this movie (and tell me the title)...but at the end of the movie -- there are three Airstreams parked side by side...and the camera pans up from there into the sky. Anyone know that title? It was a very good movie.

Airstreams in the Movies...

Not exactly in the Movies, but in a Vintage Television program, a 1964 Airstream Globetrotter was featured in one segment of Emergency with a copyright of 1973. The Airstream had caught fire while being towed near the fire station and the rig stopped right in the driveway of the fire station. A child was riding in the trailer and the EMTs found him curled up in the bathtub suffering from smoke inhalation. The Airstream was being towed by a 1969 or 1970 Ford Country Squire.

Netflix has brought back a new production of "Arrested Development". An Airstream travel trailer is featured in several of the episodes. It looks like a newer model.

Real Steel with Hugh Jackman and Evangaline Lilly.

There is a rodeo scene with a couple 70's Airstreams on the lot.

I recently saw a movie (can't remember the name of it) in which a loner lives in an Airstream. The plot is this: the loner in the Airstream has an 80 year old parrot and is trying to find out about the parrot's previous owners. It is a comedy/ drama in which the loner meets a librarian and falls in love with a librarian while researching the parrot's previous owners. I only watched it because if the Airstream, which could have been a set because they only ever showed the inside of the trailer.

CSI: Miami episode "Permanent Vacation" has an Airstream-like trailer in a warehouse about 2/3rds of the way through the episode. We usually don't bother with "Miami" but there was truly nothing else on. I say "Airstream-like" because it had an odd window arrangement I haven't seen before - curbside, there were two rows of crank-out windows, one above the other, perhaps a foot tall each, separated by a foot or two of space - but only near the back of the trailer. It probably was an Airstream, and I certainly haven't seen every arrangement of them, but it just looked odd. I just did a quick look on vintageairstream.com and didn't see anything in the 40s-50s era that looked like it.

Searched this old thread, but didn't see any mention of a movie I stumbled onto last night on TCM. "Slither" was from 1973, starring James Caan, Sally Kellerman, Louise Lasser and Peter Boyle. Driving across the country to find someone hiding some money, they tow an early 70's A/S with a full size Chevy, and the shots of campgrounds are interesting. A number of interior scenes, as well. A bad comedy, I was about to turn it off when the A/S appeared. I hung in there for a while but don't know how it ended.

For some reason I was up last night too. In fact I could of written the same post as you did, except when the Airstream appeared I wound up staying awake for the ending. It ended up with the trailer being abused but not totally wrecked. A few Baha scenes and a couple of dents. The money was long gone, (surprise, surprise) and James Cahn walked away from the whole scene in disgust, and disappointment.
I was amused by the scenes of Louise Lasser riding in the trailer as all of the bumping and banging was going on. It must have been fun to act out those scenarios, hopefully not really inside of a real Airstream.
I'm actually not much of a movie watcher, but this one caught my interest for some reason even before the unveiling of the Airstream.

I saw the movie also. I was about to turn it off, then, I saw the AS. Wondering what year/model, I looked it up on Vintage Airstream - Airstream Trailer Resource. I was trying to figure out if it was a 1971 Safari, Tradewind or Caravanner. I think it's a '71 because of the door hinge. I gotta say, the Airstream look like it towed pretty well! Especially, while on the chase.

Airstreams in the Movies...

I turned it off early. But that wagon was a '69 Chevrolet Kingswood Estate. Those hidden headlights made it a rare one. Didn't see many of them even then. Is that what they used to pull the A/S? Most of them had the V8-396, but a few had the fire-breather 427.

GMs were better after '68 but still not what a Chrysler product was. But I'd make an exception for one of the rare L72 Chevy wagons.

2.03 minutes in the video is an airstream in the back ground. The movie is Disney Let it Shine. My son worked this movie and he immediately told me about the airstream. I had him check it out and he said it was rough inside but intact. I asked him to see if they wanted to sell it, but the people in charge said it was owned by the prop people. I would have bought it. It was a 1973 Overlander. I still think about that trailer sitting in a prop department some where not being used for camping. I know it is somewhere in Atlanta
