Susan, we couldn't agree more about the latest offerings from Hollywood. There just isn't much out there any longer. We recently added Turner Classic Movies to our cable service, and a subscription to NetFlix. Our TV died back in December so we had to buy a new one. We got a great deal on a 37" LCD. Now we have a theater in our living room!

Glad to hear that Disney took care of you. See you down the road.

Jim

Has anyone seen the show " Shalom in the home" on TLC? He drives around in what looks to be a new Airstream. I havent seen it, my daughter-in-law was telling me about it. She said he brings couples into the Airstream for counseling. I looked it up on the website but all I could see was Airstream nameplate and the gas tanks.

Since the search function doesn't seem to like phrases.. couldn't check if anyone mentioned the Airstream in 'Trailer Park Boys'.

Not sure if its an Argosy or not.. (I'm not so up on the older models). They use it to grow dope and such. It appears quite often in the show.

It's a great Canadian show.... not sure if many would see it in the US.

Wild Hogs

Look real close at the bar scene in the movie Wild Hogs - there is blu_hwy_lady camper. Read somewhere in the forums that they damaged it in the ....... oops don't want to give away the movie. Well worth the $$$$ to see this movie. The AS only appears for 2-3 seconds.

My Name Is Earl!!

I spotted what looks like an early 70's Airstream in tonight's episode. Right when Earl faces up with the town bandit, it's in the background. Episode is called "South Of The Border".

That coach on Earl either had a rear door or a door on the roadside! What's up with that?

By the way scenes of Hog Wild and Astronaut Farmer were filmed in my home town of Estancia NM, along with a bunch of other movies.

I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but I saw a rerun of Eureka on SciFi channel last night that prominently featured an Excella with WBCCI numbers 30339 on the front.

There have been Airstreams built in both FB combos both current and vintage that would have a door in the back, and some Airstreams that have had a rear door added or built from the factory as an option. I have personally seen one that a member on this forum had. Pretty neat....it was like having your own rear bedroom door!

What do I like more...

The Airstream itself or the classic Earl expression?

Just watched Accepted - high school graduates create their own college. No redeaming qualities except the 'dean' lives out of his Airstream.

I haven't read this entire thread, and for what it's worth:
Some time back an episode of the TV series CSI used an Airstream. The story line was about a serial murderer who seemed to show up only at certain times of the year. Yep, he was full-timing it, and so forth, and always came back to Vegas to visit an old "flame". The interior of the A/S was pretty grim. It made me think that somewhere in "Hollywood", (or wherever this stuff is filmed) that there must be a large lot full of old A/S trailers.

Not a movie or television show, but I found this video for a British band that I quite like called "The Wolfgang Press". The song is titled "Going South" and features an Airstream pulled by a Cadillac.

Hi Folks!
speaking of British bands. There's a girly group called Girls Aloud! Their last album cover featured an Airstream. However, it was very difficult looking past the long legs and short skirts to identify it!

An early 60s AS is being used in the latest "Canon Selphy" printer series adverts. They've been shown here and I would guess by the look of them they are international and will reach all corners of the globe with the appropriate voiceover!

Someone must have mentioned Grey's Anatomy!

Marc

Sorry if a repeat

I started reading through the threads, but takes too long, lol! Anyway, I was watching "Legally Blonde" tonight and saw an A/S. looked like a 60's model.

My 2 1/2 yr old watches a cartoon called BIGFOOT PRESENTS METEOR MONSTER TRUCKS .
I don't like the beginning of this show.
if you go to their website, they crush a AS that looks like a cute lil bambi type.
