My favorite is an episode of the X-Files. Scully and Mulder enter an SOB camper, that clearly has an Airstream interior! Why they did not use the Airstream for the exterior shots is beyond me.

The Dukes of Hazzard movie had an Airstream

There's an Airstream in the new Dukes of Hazzard movie that just came to DVD a few weeks ago. Toward the end of the movie they're at a fairground where the start and finish of The Great Hazzard Road Rally are. You can see one Airstream along with a couple other RVs there for the race.

My favorite trailer and favorite car (69 Dodge Charger) all in one movie. What's not to like

No kidding! The Aluminum shell would have protected them from the Aliens.

New movie coming out with an Airstream in it...

Just saw Hostel a bit ago (not for the weak at heart). But in the previews, they had a movie, I think it was called Eyes in the Desert or something along those lines.

The Airstream (looks like a 70s unit) looks like it plays an major part of the movie.....oh and it's towed by a Chevy (Suburban).

Produced by Quentin Tarantino no less...

Scary movie...... where teens visiting Europe are advised go to mysterious foreign country, where tourists seldom go (wonder why?), to have lots of sex.......

But, they end up in a youth hostel that serves as a killing playground for psychos who want to live out their torture and death fantasies!

Supposed to be very scary!

I’ll defiantly pass too. Wonder what kinds of satisfaction people get out of those types of movies. …. Other than a view of another Airstream in this case.

In the Preview?

I think Silvertwinkie said the Airstream was in the preview movie, not Hostel the movie he watched.

70's Trailer in Movie

Was watching a Movie called Swingers with Vince Vaughn (from Wedding Crashers) when low and behold they go to a trailer park and hop inside a Airstream! And it is the same model as the one I am sitting in watching the movie. I couldn't stop smiling!!

Not a bad movie at all, quite funny, not new, done in 1996 I think.

The Hills Have Eyes

This new movie is a Wes Craven remake. I don't know that I'll watch it either. I don't want to watch anything that might make me nervous while I'm boondocking. Anyways, it's always fun to see Airstreams in the movies. Here's the info on this one:

The Hills Have Eyes
A family road trip goes terrifyingly awry when the travelers become stranded in a government atomic zone. Miles from nowhere, the Carters soon realize the seemingly uninhabited wasteland is actually the breeding ground of a blood-thirsty mutant family...and they are the prey.

After Blair Witch Project, I wanted to move (we live out in the boonies)! Wouldn't go outside after dark for a week! I think I'll skip this one, in spite of the Airstream!

Saw the New movie "8 Below" about a guide in Antarctica and his trusty sled dogs. Good movie if you like dogs. Did not expect the following. The guide goes back to his summer home on the shores of the Oregon coast and what does he live in, a 34 Excella right there on the rocky shore. What a location. The movie has a number of scenes inside the trailer as well. It was an unexpected surprise in the movie. Oregon looks like an amazing place to visit, some day...

Looks like "8 Below" will be an addition to my DVD collection when it eventually comes out.

The Hills Have Eyes (2006)

There is a re-make of Wes Craven's 1977 classic "The Hills Have Eyes" that starts playing this Friday.

I am pretty sure that it has an Airstream in it.

Anyone know anything about it?

I just saw "The Devil's Rejects", a horror movie last weekend. There's an older short Airstream (about an 18 footer or so) parked in front of the motel where the bad guys take some hostages. It's in several shots.

airstream in the movies

took my son to the movies yesterday. he wanted to see a movie called "the hills have eyes". interesting move and featured a beautiful restored 1988 airstream. broke my heart when i saw what happened to the trailer in the end of the movie, but i won't ruin it for those of you wanting to see this movie. one last thought, the movie might change your thoughts on boondocking. be ready to jump out of your seat!

I just got out of that movie.... i said the exact same thing! It was also interesting to watch the video footage of the trailer jack-knifing (that was in the advertisements, so it's not ruining it).

I know its not in the movies but I just saw a commercial for Sears appliances and it had a very brief side shot of an early '60's Airstream. Just had time to notice the door-in-a-door and it was only the front part of the trailer.
