I'd really like to be able to download whatever logo is decided (as long as it's not copywrited) so that I could take it to a local sign shop and have it made so I could attach it to that super cool looking Coleman stainless steel cooler that matches our A/S I'm hoping to get for Xmas this year. Maybe my wife could make it onto a door mat, hangtag for the awning, a cool night light set for the awning,...I just keep coming up with more things to make or need for the A/S...will it ever stop.

zamboni,
That's the beauty of it all, it will never stop. Ain't life grand? Stainless coffee mugs...yeah, I would like a set of two as well.

Zamboni,
I'm right there with you - can't wait to start plastering some cool Airstream stickers on anything that isn't nailed down! :-)

One caveat - since you brought it up - ALL artwork is copyrighted the minute it is created. Obviously as we develop a design for the forum, we will want to work with the winning artist/artists to make arrangements to use the art for the purposes of the forum members. I would hope that will be a rather lenient arrangement, since the artist will be one of our own.

Just my .02 worth - actual cash value may vary.

my .02

I realize it's a little late in the game, but since there hasn't been a vote. . .

I've been watching this thread with great interest since in a former life I was a graphic designer. Was working on a couple of ideas, nothing that really worked. Then Tamara and Zamboni really got me going with the blue dot idea, here's a rough comp of my version of it:

Have "Member" be above...and in the space you now have Member (below)
...have our chosen "name(s)" printed...

I would have

Cat & Bear

It works!

The Sticker

Dan:

I like your design - very classy and understated.
I would add some rivets and the trailer from the top of this forum - keeping it simple.

Decal?

I like that very much...
but I think I like to have some room for our names to be inscribed somewhere. Becaue as a memeber said a few posts back...when we're walking around at dusk after dinner, it's nice when you see an Airstream to look and see if you recognize a member you know...
you know?

Thumbs up FORUM MEMBER STICKER

I THINK THE STICKER IDEA IS GREAT. WILL THESE BE DECALS THAT GO ON THE INSIDE OF A WINDOW VS STICKING SOMETHING ON THE SKIN ? ALSO THE WEATHER WOULDN'T TAKE IT'S TOLL ON SAID DECAL. (WE BELONGED TO A CORVETTE CLUB A NUMBER OF YRS. AGO AND I ORDERED CLUB WINDSHIELD DECALS. THEY LAST PRACTIALLY FOREVER)

Red face

I HAVE JUST DISCOVERED THERE HAS BEEN MUCH DISCUSSION ON THE STICKER TOPIC. PLEASE FORGIVE THIS NON-COMPUTER PERSON . . . IF YOU CAN STAND ONE MORE COMMENT. . . . . . . . I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THE STATIC-CALS. I HAVE HAD ONE FROM MY DAUGHTER'S UNIV. ON/IN MY WINDSHIELD FORABOUT 3 1/2 YRS. NOW , IN MICHIGAN TEMPS. AND IT LOOKS THE SAME AS THE DAY I PUT IT ON.

Stickers

I think someone may know more about this than I do...but isn't it against A/S policy to have anyone "Stick" things on the skin (as it is against policy to stack up (store) things on the roof (except for solar panels).???

I am leaning toward a sticker that goes on the outside of the window....made partially with an aluminum 'material' on paper...that will withstand the elements. These are very durable. And would also allow for the "Silver" colour of the Airstream.

My idea for the sticker design I sent is for it to be a round sticker which would be available for both exterior placement or inside glass placement in order for it to be seen from the outside. They can be used both on the trailer and on the tow vehicle. Other organizations that I belong to offer this arrangement. I don't produce these, it is just an idea for the forum.
