No, Alan's meet is a forums thing. Mine and Ken's are WBCCI functions.

8593 As of 12/31/03

If you are in Florida be sure to vote often, sometimes twice on the same day

Hmm...I've looked at the St. Louis meeting. One person is signed up. Looks like its going to be a fun time.

There's a forums get together in N California at Laguna Seca (near Monterey). There's a separate thread for this event.

These meetups appear to be a meeting at a coffee shop type thing not a 'rally.'

100 people in Detroit area signed up

I voted for T.G.I. Fridays in Troy (That's my kind of place.) There's the possibility that this could be a low carb gathering .

See the website here at airstreamtrailers.meetup.com

These are not rallies. They are private meetings of like-minded folks, usually 4-12 people at a time according to the website. I suppose they would talk about their varying cases of "aluminitis" ...

So far only 35 people are signed up nationwide, so the possibility of a successful "meetup" is pretty remote. But if hundreds or thousands of people signed up, it could work. The meetups are scheduled for the fourth Saturday of every month.

Would you go to one?

Well, I voted for the Java Room, in Cape Coral. So far, I am the only one locally signed up. Looks like I will be drinking lots of coffee, and talking to myself....:\
