Since you are still looking, let me mention that on a trip up the coast a couple of years ago. I noticed many vans, conversion vans, and small motorhome at the various surf spots along the coast.
A few of those spots had parking places big enough for my 34' motorhome.
Many didn't, nor would they fit a truck and trailer.
The ability to hang at a spot waiting for the tide to shift, crowd to thin out etc is a big plus.
Just thought I'd mention this as those smaller
vehicles really seemed the like the best solution for the traveling surfer.
