Airstream stolen

My 1972 Airstream Overlander was stolen last night, at 1:00 AM, from Dayton Rd. in Newark, OH. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Vehicle towing appears to be a dark colored Tahoe or Yukon.

Jack,

I will be traveling tonight thru Ohio. Any distinguishing marks (awnings, tanks, AC, bumper stickers)?

Like an 'Amber Alert'...we need an 'ALUMINUM ALERT'. I had spoken to Sean Micheals on the Long Long Honey Moon about this, to where he -or the right people- could instanly produce a mock up of the stolen trailer for viewing and post it all over the place for all to see. Hope you get it located fast!

Should you post your VIN number here? I don't know if that's a good idea or not...

Was it taken from your home or one of those "secure" storage" places?

red numbers

Does it have any WBCCI numbers or blue numbers or stickers on it that might help identify it as it passes by? Any dings or dents? We will keep our eyes open too. We will be heading for the Air Pocono rally next week.
Please let us know when it is found. We will keep you in our prayers that it is soon. Did you notify police and surrounding areas/states?

Put out the word

I highly recommend that you put out some photo flyers....hit the utility companies, volunteer fire departments, meter readers, mail delivery folks....the bunch that gets out into the country...they see lots of remote sites. You live near some pretty remote areas...my guess is thats where it will end up....a Red Neck deer Camp....in that vein....put up flyers in hunting/fishing sporting good stores. Flood the area with info.

Lots of folks willing to help look, but a lot of them look similar w/o tag #'s, WBCCI #'s, and graphics you might have put on it, some distinguishing marks? Help us..... Help you. Post a picture or two. We'll keep our eyes open.

Good luck. Terry and Natalie

Pictures of Thief

Thanks to all of you who have responded. I am not sure what the numbers are on the Airstream, as there were two sets of numbers on it at one time. You can make out where the numbers were as the surface oxidized around them. As far as distinguishing items, I made a temporary repair to a leak around the antenna using a can of spray foam. It is very visible, about 6 inches or more tall. Also the step is covered in green carpet held on by white ty-raps and the front hitch area is newly painted silver. There is a right angle bracket below the rear window and twin tanks on front w/o cover.
I had a Reese hitch pin lock on it, but evidently that is not enough. If by chance you happen to see it, don't approach the people, just call the police, as we don't want any of you good guys harmed. I am attaching two pictures one of the thief and one of him stealing my Airstream. Wish the cameras would have caught his license.

By the way, the vehicle is a two-door Blazer.
Thanks,

That vehicle is a Chevy S10 Blazer or a GMC S15 Jimmy made in that body style by GM from the early 80s to 1994. The one in the picture is a 5 door (4 doors plus a rear door). It is not exactly a towing machine--small V6 engine.
Sure hope you catch this jerk.

If this guy is dumb enough to post it on craigslist, I'll help keep an eye out for it nationwide. For example, here's a 71 Overlander in Minnesota. Who knows where your trailer could wind up.
