That's a great idea. In fact, he turns left out of that driveway so I wonder if there may be several security cameras at various points along his route. We're probably getting towards the time where those tapes have recorded over themselves in most cases...

Problem is left - if this trailer is where I think it was - is north. Which is the middle of nowhere.....

I am gonna go to Lowes and get a length of chain(big stuff) and one of them there locks that closes completely ,where the shackels are not exposed and chain mine. This proves to me, if thieves are intent on stealin my trailer.Im gonna slow em down any way I can. My friend in Fla who is a for real REPO MAN says that length of chain has stopped him several times from repoing campers and car trailers. Repo men depend on getting it off the property and into the street before the law or the owner showup. Then possession becomes 9/10 of the law.I ya have the proper paper work.

Roger,
When you say "big stuff" how big are you talking about? The kind of chain we lock our generators with when we're camping, or even bigger?

At least 3/8 high test chain i would say, anything smaller a bolt cutter can cut.

Probably 3/8 high tensile will be sufficient. I think thats what I just changed my safety chains too. It has to survive the pressure of the two wheels turning in opposite directions. (sounds weird I know) If loudruff reads this he can confirm 3/8will be enough,he's an old steel hauler like me. I think that's what we use to tye down steel coils and Machinery with.

agreed
I would agree that grade7, 3/8ths is big stuff. It is small enough to go through the holes in standard steel AS rims. This will deter a casual thief. However, I have 48" bolt cutters that are portable and will cut it. Also, a small portable oxy/acetelyn torch cuts chains and locks like a knife through butter and it is quick and makes little noise.

The new colt cam works awesome!... Puts an infra red bead on'um real quick, kinda changes there mind, ' if you will '!
Very unfortunate for those that would try to take advantage of an already poor economy, to try to steal from the rest. Don't you think?

With that thing pulling it, I'm betting it's still somewhere in the vicinity.

Gary,
The tow vehicle is turning left from my building. It turned right on Dayton Rd. I think it may have been taken to the Brownsville Rd. area. We are still looking and preparing posters with reward.
Thanks,
Jack

Loudruff,
We have found no good pictures of our AS. As far as distinguishing items, I made a temporary repair to a leak around the antenna using a can of spray foam. It is very visible, about 6 inches or more tall. Also the step is covered in green carpet held on by white ty-raps and the front hitch area is newly painted silver. There is a right angle bracket below the rear window and twin tanks on front w/o cover.

Jack, maybe some arrangements by air would be worth doing to cover area faster. Brownsville Rd. like many others in your area support multiple driveways that are unimproved. Your theifs vehicle supports that the theif possibly resides off an unimroved driveway with what looks to be native dirt behind the wheel wells in your posted photos. The crime scene looks to be in the attached photo. Maybe hangout at the burger joint up the street and wait for him to stop by for another large soda.

Quick observation. New battery powered Dremel tool will cut through a chain very quickly!

This was in the local news feed I have set up on Google this morning:
NEWARK -- Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering as much as $1,000 for information about a camper stolen from a Newark business complex.
At 11 p.m. July 22, an older model two-tone Chevrolet Blazer drove into a small business complex behind Wendy's on Dayton Road.
About 45 minutes later, the Blazer was caught on video pulling a 27-foot Airstream Camper from the complex, according to the news release.
Anyone with information about this crime should call Licking County Crime Stoppers at (740) 349-6888 or (888) 488-9058. A coding system protects the identity of the caller but allows the reward to be issued later.
Crime Stoppers also takes calls from people with information about any felony. Information leading to the arrest and indictment of a felony suspect could qualify the caller for a reward as determined by the Crime Stoppers board.
