Terribly sorry about your misfortune, but very glad you got "most" of the A/S back. Don't get discouraged, you'll eventually get your A/S to what you need and to accommodate "your state of mind."

Good Luck, Terry & Natalie

Jack - how are you doing on your parts replacements? I have two original 30 lb. tanks that I had just started to polish (second cut on one nothing on the other yet) to put out on Ebay. They have new valves. Replaced ours with a pair off a wrecked 2006 that I got for $120.

Any word at all on the culprit..??

Thanks to this event - the well it's in a C/G in rural central OH nothing will happen attitude has changed (it's a shame).

We had a Masterlock Titanium lock in the latch - shackle opening hopefully too small to get bolt cutters on. Last weekend - added a ball, locked into the hitch (thanks Robertsunrus) and a hidden waterproof cut off switch to the jack power. Not perfect but certainly a little more to delay a quick theft.

It wasn't too many years ago (before easy State Park reservations) we used to take the new Coleman to Deer Creek on Tuesday or Wednesday - drop the jacks and walk away until we came back in on Friday, just to get the spot we wanted and insure a site.....

Airstream was found, several pieces missing.

Yes, the detectives did find the thief. However, due to our local judge and prosecutor not allowing or not introducing some evidence, he was found not guilty. Again thanks to all on this forum for offering assistance. Good news, although the insurance company considered it a total loss, I purchased it back from them and have been working on restoring it.
Thanks,

Jack so sorry to hear of your loss. Had my 72 Tradewind stolen back in 2010 and never a clue or word since. It's extremely personal being a vintage trailer where family memories are made.
A few things I learned: 1 whoever did it has a plan and they thought this out carefully. If they're smart they won't put it on the road but will park it somewhere unseen on a farm or out of site. 2. They thought about it, planned it and executed. They knew your hitch size and how to get it fast. Maybe your camera picked up a clue when they cased out your location. 3. Police here really didn't care. No help in tracking mine down. But there are tons of cameras that watch the roads and highways, red light cameras etc. maybe you can have access to one that saw where she went.
4. You're doing the right thing by hitting the forum and post pics and descriptions. No body spots Aluminum like an Airsteam owner so we are your best detectives.

For the others that are reading. If your trailer is stored in any public space get a GPS Smart Tracker or similar device. You'll save a whole lot of misery and be able to find the thieves who took her.
Keep us posted. rich hog

Airstream found

[QUOTE=jazz1945;874905]My 1972 Airstream Overlander was stolen last night, at 1:00 AM, from Dayton Rd. in Newark, OH. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Vehicle towing appears to be a dark colored Tahoe or Yukon.

AIRSTREAM WAS FOUND! Several pieces missing, but have been able to find all but wheel covers. Newark, OH detectives did an outstanding job in finding the trailer and suspect. However our great justice(?) system did a much less outstanding job. Thank you to the many people on this forum for their help and support!

Good to hear she was found. Everytime I hear of an Airstream stolen it makes me cringe as I know it is a painful experience. Mine is out there somewhere and hopefully some day she will come home. To recover I bought a 2010 Safari fb and love it, though I still miss the 72.
