Our 76 looks just like that one...small orange stripe on the side, square light panel on the back, wrap around windows in front (ours has after market tint on them).

Cool Dallas drip

well i Saw 6 A/S on my way down and back .
the first was near Miami OK on the side of I44 in a airplane hanger. The
the second was one for sale in between Atoka and Mcalister OK. The next was in a repair shop all i saw was the front of it. Next was another one for sale in a motel parking lot in a little town (?) on 69 hwy. After that there was one in a RV park looks like some people were full timing it again on 69 town unknown. the last one was being pull south on 69 hwy it was in the same town i saw the one in the repair shop it was pulled by an older couple real slow i think it was the one i saw in the repair shop.

We're one night from getting back to Omaha on a 3 week trip to Southeastern Utah (Arches and Canyonlands). We traveled across Colorado on HWY 50 on the way out and HWY 160 (with stops in Mesa Verde and Great Sand Dunes National Parks) coming home and as of today, we have seen 34, mostly in Colorado and Utah.

On Tuesday I saw a great looking newer model Airstream heading toward Barren River Lake in Glasgow Ky. I could see some red numbers but couldn't make them out. I'll bet he had a great week.

I dunno, Steve... just taking him at his word:

"1953 Spartan travel trailer, Royal Spartanette, 33' near mint condition" and "This trailer is in the best shape I have ever seen for a 1953" and "All original interior still working and a classic 50's style"...

Could be a good vintage trailer that with minimal costs & effort, turn out to be pretty nice. Interior from the photos looks good and the woodwork/finish looks good, too. "Near mint" means to me that floor/frame issues are not a problem. Though, wonder about axels, brakes, etc... Polishing that sucker would take at least several cases of beer and alot of breaks in between...

This weekend we tried out a local campground, just wanted to get outside in this great fall weather. 10 minutes from the house and surprise! 3 other 'streams were there with us. A 22' (?) twin axle that was from Ohio I believe (they split before we could meet them), a 34' and a 31' Excella (never saw the owners) both with Mississippi tags.

Jax,

I don't believe there is a camper 30 years old or older that doesn't need a new floor unless it was stored in doors its' whole life. Axles is another issue, so is the frame, and then other things that are never usually found until people start a restoration.

I think $12,000 is extremely high for this trailer.. Just an opinion, but I also know the shop selling the trailer, and have dealt with them before.

Steve

Even if it has been stored indoors, the water heater or other plumbing may have leaked and caused the floor to rot.....and replacing the floor usually means removal of the old wood down to the frame and replacing--not covering up with a new floor on top of the old floor. Don't ask me how I know this. paula

Hi, paula. How do you know this? When is your trailer going to be finished? When is your first trip with this trailer going to be? What is Uwe going to do, to pass time, when he finishes your trailer? Will you still be able to buy gas after paying Uwe? Do I sound like a ten year old asking fifty questions? Don't answer that last question. When are we going to see you or camp with you next?

finally!

This Big Bertha lives in the industrial part of my town, and I've never been able to remember to bring a camera.

Just from looking, I'll say a 34' unit. Looks very well cared for.

In the second one, it looks like it's surfing...

Hello, I know this because 100% of our Vintage trailers had that issue. Our trailer is going to be finished very soon......anyway, we are saving lots of gas money right now that we can put into our trailer....we have to do our part for the economy. I am sure Uwe will find more trailers that need his expertise just as soon as ours is finished. He sure does great work.
Hope to see you all soon. paula

There is an Airstream involved with a gas stealing operation on CSI tonight. Being pulled by an Escalade.

They do look almost... menacing, don't they? Maybe it's just fear of backing up talking.

If you're airstream is currently being shipped...

Spotted a 60's AS on a flat bed heading East yesterday morning (29th) at 8:25am, mile marker 163 on I-40 (Just East of OKC). Bright and shiny with red painted wheels.

If yours is in transit.. that's where it was yesterday.

Have you seen the AS on the Geico Ins. comerical. It's the one with the man climbing on top of a class C MH. It's only there for a few seconds, however it's still an AS sighting.
