I guess that Cake is a half hour segment of the slumber party show, which is a couple hours long.

Maybe this should be on here. I found this sittig in a field of junk. No one around to ask about it. Two goats, a dog and a yellow cat guarding it. They were not talking.

I'd say that's a 1965 Safari. How do you keep finding these things? I keep looking around here, but never seem to find anything (at least that doen't appear to be in current use).

I drive about 1100 miles a month in my work. Lots of open country out here. Lots of old "stuff" sitting everywhere. It's just that you either can't find the person who owns it or they're using it to store other "stuff" in and don't want to sell it. Found this guys Uncle who says the owners are too stupid to sell it and will probably just let it rot out there. Wouldn't let us get any closer to it. Said "they're kinda funny bout that".

Now that you mention it, the 2 or 3 I did find over the last few years were the same story. The owner would rather let it rot than sell it for some money and know it would be well taken care of. What's with some people?

Sleepless in Seattle...
On the corner of 6th near Denny Way in Seattle, I was traveling back to the hotel room in the hotel shuttle, spotted this 60's beauty. Is it you??

Highway 12
Highway 12 West before Elma, Washington. Caught this real quick with my camera. We're headed that way again tomorrow for turkey with my outlaws so I'll try to take a better pic. There were two more and I'll catch those two as well.
Oops, did I say "outlaws"? My goodness it just slipped right out!

This is kinda long ....sorry
There are "summer people" about 2 blocks from us here on the lake. Out for a stroll about 5 yrs ago we saw this little old AS parked on their side street. We took a look see at it. Unbelievable! Although in need of cleaning/polishing, the exterior was supreme as I remember. Peeking in the window was a step back in time. Original interior looked to be perfect and the owners had an old style radio sitting there - maybe it came with it! We talked to the owner's neighbor and he said they hadn't had it long, used it for golf trips and just loved it. I fell in love with it too - said it looked like a cupcake. I'd been watching the forums and the internet and writing notes etc. about AS's at that time while looking to buy. Went back, wrote down the numbers and deciphered them. It's a '57 or '59 Wanderer and 15' or 17' as I recall. It wintered behind their place, was gone the next season and we didn't see it again. Thought they didn't have it any longer and what do you know......... it was back just this past weekend!! Now it's gone again, maybe to storage. Never have talked to the owners. I'll get a pic if the opportunity presents itself again. It is so, so cute!!
As you can see we found our AS and named her Cupcake (what else? I didn't know about the Twinkie thing then) Actually ALL AS's are now refered to as cupcakes around here.
Friends call her by name and have reported cupcake siteings as well.

While it was not an air stream it was a neat, I'd guess mid 50's alum trailer going south on I44 around Chickasaw,OK this afternoon about 2pm. Interesting in that it had a rear street side door with a porthole window! Probably mid 20 foot length, pretty square body with rounded corners. Anyone have any idea what it might have been? No matter; cool project for someone.

Hey,
We saw a 1964 Safari in perfect condition in a yard on Cabin Creek WV. We got off the WV Turnpike, wanting to see how things had changed after being away about 25 years. We were on the way home from Beckley WV for
Thanksgiving dinner.

Saw a lovely 70s Excella a local state beach campground today. Friendly folks--of course!--and they were happy to give us a tour. From the SF Bay Area, they love to boondock and go to Baja for a month every year. Had some good tips, as well as a great solar panel. But what impressed me the most was that she had given a family Thanksgiving dinner for 25 at the site! (Very organized kitchen by the way...) She said she loves to cook in her little space, using the portable BBQ and campfire pit to get everything hot and on the table at the same time. Oh do I have a lot to learn!

love my thread!
This thread's keeping me sane while we save up for some big purchases.
On the way to Aberdeen from Seattle, going East on Hwy 12, I pulled into an area that had some trailers. I know one was a Streamliner, but none of them were Airstreams. All vintage and beautiful however...identify them if you can!

We followed a late model Safari down US 431 thru Alabama on Wednesday headed to Florida. Nice unit pulled by one of those BMW SUV's. Georgia tags.

Saw two more coming home today from Florida. One, maybe a '70's model 25+ footer, headed south on Hwy 231 Between Dothan and the Florida line. The Other was north of Dothan on Hwy 431 headed south. Maybe a late 60's model? Sooner or later, I'm gonna see somebody from the Forum.
We also saw a new 19/20' at Topsail state park in Florida, the site of the First Annual Can Opener Rally in January. It was sitting right inside the front gate in the very first site (Number 21, IIRC). They're everywhere, they're everywhere!

We saw 6 this weekend, not including ours, most we've seen in one trip not counting rallys.
A Basecamp being pulled by a Honda SUV - it must have rear suspension, the rear wheels were in an inverted "V". It looked a little heavy in the rear.
We saw 4 other "normal" AS's of varying ages, flashed some of them - with our lights .
Today we saw an old 50's? trailer for sale in Auburn, CA alongside Hwy 80.
