Saw four Airstreams yesterday along the Oregon coast on Route 101 from Cannon Beach to Bullards Beach State Park. Three were on the road headed north, and a fourth was camping at Beverly Beach State Park. It was a great day for Airstreaming.

[QUOTE=FastEddieB;1572176]Laura and

Next time we have a few days of good weather forecast, the plan is for Karen to drive down in the Flex while I fly down in the Sky Arrow. The goal is to leave the Flex there so we have myriad options to get down there and then have wheels to do camping trips in FL for the next few

I hope it's not too late to roll back a few pages and ask about your SKY ARROW,
Great name, and there is lots of aluminum in planes. So could you tell us a bit about yours. I love the whole grass runway, small vintage plane kind of thing too.

Cheers Richard

OK, so I should have googled it first. Not vintage, or much aluminum involved, but still a cool plane. Was yours a kit plane. Did you put it together? Must be a very nice viewing platform with the big canopy short nose, and the engine out back. Neat. What sort of range does it have?
Looks like it would have a good glide ratio.

Cheers Richard

Airstream sightings

Saw a 25 - 30 foot AS perhaps 80s or 90s vintage (blue stripe), a fellow Texan towing with a white GMC heavy duty at mile marker 73 rest area eastbound I40 in Tennesee. We were pulling off into rest stop as he went by and honked This was Sunday

Saw this Airstream being used as a snack-bar called the Silver Bullet on the Parade in Napier, New Zealand yesterday. We've been in NZ almost a month touring the North Island by car, and this is the first Airstream we've spotted. Smaller caravans are the key here as the roads are VERY curvy with lots of hairpin turns. Towing Silver Fern, our 27, would have been a big challenge.

Saw this one today in Sausalito CA. Not sure of the story on how it comes to be there. I love the door in a door.

Saw four Airstream trailers today, all within a few miles, all in the town of Sebring, FL, all within an hour of each other. What was going on? Was it just a coincidence? Or, maybe it was people arriving at Sebring for race week?
A 25' being pulled by a black Silverado, going south on US 27
A 16' being pulled by a white Silverado, going north on US 27
A 30' or 34' in a RV park in the distance (could not see the axles behind some shrubs)
A 30' pulled by a light color pickup truck, coming out of Hammock Road (Hammock State Park) onto north US 27.

I think we saw Tinbender's Missouri AS last week on our way to church peeking out from a backyard close to Loose Park in Kansas City. Haven't had time to do another drive by to see if it is still there.

Was it a whale tail?

I know those folks, Jake and Diane. Probably headed home to Spartanburg from our Unit rally in Swansea over the weekend.

Their trailer has been in Jake's family since new. Not sure the year.

That was likely us at Beverly Beach heading home to BC after 4 months on the road and needing a final Ocean fix.

Alan,

The 30' Classic turning from Hammock onto 27 was probably me. The Suncoast AS group 129 just had a Rally at Highlands state park and we were on our way home until our next get together at Hillsborough River State Park in April. While in Sebring we were able to attend the practice runs for the race this coming week as well as the camaraderie of almost 30 of our fellow members for four days .

Rats! Being a Highlands County, Florida resident I was out of town this past weekend for my niece's baby shower and I missed all of the Airstreamer's coming/going from Highlands Hammock State Park. I sure hope you all had fun!

I wish I would have known. I was just a few miles away the whole time. When we are in Sebring for the winter we often ride our bicycles down the bike path to the state park.

I'm packing up, preparing to head north. It's getting too warm for me in the Sunshine State!

I saw another 25' Airstream headed north on US 27 yesterday about noon. The snowbird migration north is happening.

Today we were in WDW Animal Kingdom and I saw an AS in Dinoland. It is a permanent fixture near one of the restaurants. I should have taken a picture of it but I'm sure many others have seen it as well. IIRC it had a number displayed. I would assume someone has already researched it's history but I'd enjoy hearing it if anyone is willing to share.

Thanks!

We were headed northbound on I-65 between Branson and Springfield late this afternoon and saw a late model 25-28'r heading south being pulled by a jacked-up pickup that both my wife and I swear was taller than the AS. We wished we had a camera on hand, but were too pre-occupied pulling ours back to the dealer in Springfield.
