Spartan for sure

That unit is a 1956 as the window in the front tells the story. My parents divorced when I was 15 and when I was 16 my mother bought a 1956..."Mansion" in Roswell, NM. Note the small window under the large window...tells the tail.

According to spartantrailer.com they were 50' long and built in 1955 and '56.
The windows tell me that there was a front bedroom, then the large window next is the living room and then the kitchen (stove vent), then bath and bedroom.

Saw 3 on the road today, one in FL just south of Jacksonville on I-95 mid morning, one near the GA FL border near Brunswick on I-95 around noon, the last one in NC just south of Asheboro on I-74.

Saw a whole herd of aluminum trailers when we stopped at Don Mar RV in Lynchburg, SC, looking for parts. They have many old Airstreams, Spartans, and other vintage kin. (sorry no pictures)

At least you should be able to in eight years when they build your truck.

Sorry, just couldn't resist.

Might be worth buying a bigger truck for.
Wife could never ever never say it was too small or she didn't have enough storage again.
Flip-side is- many campgrounds could not accommodate it...

Quite the price increase for those extra 50 pounds!

US101 near Santa Barbara

Saw 3 airstreams in the course of 30 minutes- all headed north. First was a vintage International, stopped on an off-ramp. Hope all is well with them. Nobody wants trouble on Friday afternoon. Second was a vintage something-or-other all tricked out with SailorJerry.com decorations. The third was mid-20s feet and not too old. Since I'm a newbie, I don't know all the models.

On Monday, while riding north from L.A. on the Amtrak, out on Point Concepcion near Lompoc, I saw a group of 5 or 6 shiny Airstreams in some kind of seaside camp out.

. Yeah, I found photos of them on flickr, so I think it's a long- term thing. Kinda cool, though.

Alberta plates with a red 10 on the back. Dude was hauling AS so fast I had to ignore a couple laws just to catch up to take these pics.

Saw an AS in Spotsy VA while taking ours to storage. Sad, however we'll have it out in a week or so for a Thanksgiving trip!
