Paula,

We were dropping off after a 6 day trip to Campland on the Bay in San Diego. Very kid friendly place to take them for their first camping trip. They are 7 and 10 and there were lots of things for them to do.

Any idea what those 2 trailers are? There weren't any identifying tags or plates that I could find. Both appeared to be in the 28' to 30'+ range and looked in great condition on the outside (couldn't see inside though but would assume the inside would be in similar condition).

My first thought after having viewed the photos of the Airstream was "propane tanks"! The whole shell coming off like that speaks of the force of impact (either that or the mothership was skimping on rivets)...

Thank god nobody was killed! Sure hope they have good insurance.

This one is probably a Streamline, I think they were known for the gold anodized band on the side. It is most likely from the 1970's, give or take.

The other you posted might be a Boles Aero, but I am not too confident of that identification.

66calstream,

Yes, it was great for the kids. I prefer being in the mountains or by a lake with some solitude, but I think the kids would have been bored. The trip was a great success so we are happy campers.

Joe,

Thanks for the ID on the trailers. I will poke around to see if i can locate any other identifying marks or tags. Hopefully I will see the owners when we are at the storage lot and get a tour of their trailers.

You are probably right. That would have been my second guess, but I was going from memory without checking any old photos. Sorry for the misdiagnosis.

Looks like the holiday weekend has started for some of us. Saw this nice rig on Scenic Hwy 11 headed toward Gowensville from Campobella, SC.

My brother who just passed away had a "pull behind" in Silver City, NM and it is a Silver Streak!

Cool Airstream at Pirateland in Myrtle Beach, SC! Its owner is traveling the US on a movie your promoting his new feature film "Crackerjack"-- narrated by Jeff Foxworthy and produced by an Airstreamer! The Airstream is wrapped with the movie logo and has pictures of characters from the movie looking out each window--- so cool!!!

In over 1000 miles from CT to TN not a single Airstream. On our way back to VA as a midpoint today, we saw 4 - 3 in the morning heading on 40 west and one on 81 headed south. No pics but good to see aluminum in a sea of HUNDREDS of SOBs.

That's an AIRForums member, no? ArtWithin, I believe, who was recently having some problem with the door latch.

Just saw a Xarelto commercial. I have no idea what the drug is for but an Airstream is prominently featured throughout. Did anyone here lend their AS to the commercial??

Xarelto is a new anticoagulant - similar to pradaxa - both I believe direct thrombin inhibitors

Long story short - pretty much doing the job Coumadin does for people with blood clots or atrial fibrillation but less monitoring - its new so still lingering safety concerns....

Sorry - tangent
