Airstream sightings

While camping in Cumberland Gap National Historic Park on June 26, 2013 another Airstream parked a few spaces down. We left on the next morning and saw an Avion and an Airstream parked in a yard on the side of the road somewhere in the toe of Virginia.

I posted a comment in one a week or two ago that had less than 20 posts. I unsubscribed from it. I tried to search for it just now and was unable to find it.

We passed an Argosy and two Basecamps (we think) with Maine plates traveling together yesterday on I-83 northbound in Maryland. It was such an odd combination of vehicles that we just had to roll behind them for a while. :-) We have a picture that I'll post later.

I was out for a ride in the scooter this morning and Saw this 1973 Argosy 24 across from the rodeo in Duncan's Mills CA.

I think I saw my first Basecamp in the wild yesterday at Silver Dollar City's campground "The Wilderness". We were driving by going to Indian Point on Table Rock Lake and I caught a glimpse of it. There's also a newer Airstream in another loop here at our campground with WBCCI numbers, we'll have to catch up with them and chat later.

We saw several vintage Airstreams that need some tlc on the side of the road between north Louisiana and south Missouri, but none being used until Branson.

Saw this one south bound on 61 south near Iowa city. We all had a big wave.

I saw these three Airstreams while vacationing on Maui.

Ran across an aluminum wonderland with all kinds of cool trailers outside of Hesperia Ca. I'm not sure if the is an Airstream or Curtis Wright fifth wheel but looks factory made.

We saw this pup when we were being given a tour of Hot Springs back in early June. Not sure exactly what it's called, but it looked pretty nifty!!

That's a Avion truck camper. There are a few restoration threads for them here on the forums. They were made by Avion from 1965 through the early '70's, and then for a few years by the Cayo Brothers under the Cayo name.

I saw a newer tandem wheel AS, probably a Classic or Land Yacht being towed by a pick-up truck on South Bound I-5 in San Juan Capistrano this afternoon (6-30-13) about 3:30PM. I was trying to catch up but they were in the number two lane and moving right along at about 65 MPH. It was a bit crowded and I needed to turn off soon. I had my camera at the ready but I never got close enough for a shot. (It had panorama windows in the back).
