Thanks, Mike, but that link is blocked by the firewall where I am now. I will check it out when I get home tonight.

Here's the description:

This Custom Built Motorhome is for someone who appreciates a unique and finely crafted motorhome with no equals on the planet. Not for someone looking for a cheap bargain priced run of the mill motorhome , yes the price is correct and I realize this most likely will not sell.
I spent 2 1/2 years building this, approximately 6000 hours, using the finest materials available. I wanted an aerodynamic motorhome and to that end I did the following.
1. Used a new airstream 19' trailer which in itself is the most aerodynamic RV on the market.
2. I removed the AC from the top and custom designed the ac unit that fit underneath just behind the rear axle with the intake and outflow vents on the floor with the use of custom built teak vents.
3. Custom built fender skirts held on with 1/4 turn aircraft cowling fasteners in case of tire change.
4. The underneath portion of the motorhome section is completely incased in aircraft aluminum for wind flow except the drive shaft is exposed, with a slight angle rising in the rear section for less drag.
5. aluminum to connect the trailer with the cab for a smooth airflow. There is a 2nd inner panel and steel reinforcement and insulation in this area.
6. The steps are enclosed behind custom fabricated doors that are closed during travel. Even the ends of the original bumper are filled with foam and sealed with aluminum to reduce drag.
All of this has resulted in a smooth, quiet driving RV which gets between 17 and 20 MPG and you can cruise at 80. I also opted for the 3.72 rear end ration to increase efficiency yet it has plenty of power
The entire inside except for the refrigerator cabinet was gutted and redesigned to allow for a queen size bed across the back, therefore the bathroom was reduced in size as for me a larger bed was more important than a large bathroom.
1. a row of drawers was added in the kitchen, a round sink with more counter space, a high end marine faucet is used with a more classic style countertop material.
2. linoleum was removed and solid maple flooring was installed., all the tacky carpet on the walls and ceiling was removed, prepped, and painted a pale yellow.
3. all the cabinet doors were removed and new doors custom made in my shop.
4. The small back window was removed along with the small outer back access door and a full size door and windows installed that come on the 16' Bambi.
A wicker sofa is in the living area with a removable table and a custom removable section to transfer between the cab and the back. I also installed a Xantrex 2400 inverter/charger and 2 6 volt top of the line golf cart batteries.
5. A quality filter system in installed along with a water accumulator. A second water tank was installed to increase capacity to 36 gallons. Also An electric sewer valve in also added.
6.3" rigid board insulation was added within the frame of the chassis for added insulation and quietness.
7. The tow system is rated for 7000 pounds for this vehicle
The Mercedes Sprinter Diesel CabChasis, only has 21000 miles and drives as smooth as a Lexus.
8. All the lower baggage compartments were custom fabricated. One compartment on the drivers side is large enough for a 6' 3" adult to lie in. There is also a pass threw compartment in the back. There is a lot of storage as I wasted no available space.
This unit weights 8900 pounds with full tanks which gives you over 2000 pounds of carrying capacity. I also added electric leveling jacks.
to see more photos see my photobucket by emailing me and I will send you the link I will need an email address Some show before, during and after. Also 1 is me showing this to the top 3 Airstream Executives, they were impressed!
Please call me at 805 682 1075 if you have further questions

"yes the price is correct and I realize this most likely will not sell."
At least he does not seem to live totally in a fantasy world. Price aside it is still an interesting concept.

It's a fantasy to even bother listing it on eBAY on the off chance that someone with $574,999.98 more money than brains would pay that for it. I think he has it listed for some other reasons.. maybe to justify some insane amount on insurance coverage? Reason to think no one "gets it" because they're not lining up to buy?

(and re: the number above... Yeah, I realize it's real value is way more than 2 cents, and if he had priced even in the realm of the very expensive new Interstates I'd think it was at least sane, if ambitious, but at $575k it's just some sort of mental exercise (or defect) I don't understand.)

I would think he can put any price he wants to on it. It is no more insane than some of the units that are priced/advertised on the Air Classifieds.
It is only the price catagory that draws attention to this item. And , unless you want to build one, it is one of a kind.

This Class C Airstream concept of a Sprinter based motorhome seems like it would be successful in today's high fuel cost environment. An Sprinter Class C with a classic Airstream aluminum exterior behind the cab and floor plans like the 2013 Winnebago View or Itasca Navion IQ would be very tempting if I were in the market: Winnebago Motor Homes - 2013 View & View Profile

You are so very welcome! We are glad you enjoyed your time in AR. Check out Lake DeGrey your next time through! It is near Arkadelphia, our hometown.

We enjoy traveling to northern AR . Gotta love those hills! I think I hear them calling my name!

Jimmy & Cindy:

We saw Lake DeGrey on the way up when we took 7 up to Hot Springs. Looks like a beautiful lake. We spent a couple of nights at Bull Shoals - White River State Park.... a beautiful park and the weather couldn't have been better... very seldom get to camp in the summer in Texas without the AC at night.

We actually stopped in Arkadelphia the day you shot the picture to grab a burger at the Golden Arches.

Sprinter - Airstream halfbreed

We're had some harsh words for it over here.
Maybe thats what I should do to my Norman Rockwell Edition, turn it into a motor home. Even with a Ford F650/750 it would still be under the 50 foot length.

About 20 minutes ago on New Mexico 516 between farmington and aztec, there was a blinding flash, and before i knew it a beautiful polished vintage 25 footer being towed by a black Toyota went past. DROOL. My F150 tells me its 105 degrees here right now..wonder if the polish helps keep a vintage unit cooler... lol

Olga says she saw a vintage AS pulled by a grey SUV turning off Texas 66 in Rowlett onto the Eastern Extension of the President George Bush Turnpike about 2:45. Always nice to see a fellow AS'er in town, or just passing through. If that was you, say hi!

Sunday on US 550, one newer unit looking like it was doing the national park routine heading south, a classic MOHO (short one) with brown accents heading north, and on NM516 one that needs a lesson: a NEW AS, looked to be 25 footer or so, pulled by a Toyota Tundra with a camper shell. IF it was a nissan i could have called it a TITANic.. it was down by the stern and the whole unit looked like it had a broken back. I was able to see that it had a weight distribution hitch on, but it was so overloaded im surprised the hitch wasnt dragging the pavement. The back of the truck looked full and i bet the trailer was packed full. From the looks of things Id guess the Titanic itself had a tighter turning radius vs length...the front wheels were only on the ground out of habit.

At least it wasnt the Ford Ranger in Durango pulling a 30+ foot toy hauler...

Id get pictures but im always driving... the MOHO was a nice looking unit. havent seen one like that for a while. No numbers on any that I saw, but didnt really get a good look at the stern of the MOHO.

Im seeing a lot of vintage units parked in back yards and being used for housing... I guess since i caught the aluminum fever i see them....
