I passed a new(er) Big Safari this morning on the way to work. Maroon Ford towing west on I-20 headed toward Vicksburg.
It made me smile when I saw it, badly needed since the start this morning included picking up the garbage that the neighbors dogs had scattered all over the yard and street from our cans.

Hood Canal, WA. This '81 A/S is literally backed up right to the bluff, very secure and safe but you wouldn't catch me sleeping in it! Amazing view!

That would be a great spot to park a front bedroom.

I was parked right next door at my friend's property. Amazing view. I chatted up Mike the owner of the airstream during my stay, great guy. I told him I would brown my trousers if I had to do that backup! It is a rear bedroom I believe he said, so the guests have that beautiful view but the terror of sleeping on the bluff, I took a pic from the beach looking up, will see if I can find it.

On my drive home from work tonight, .I saw a newer A/S being pulled by a van heading north on Lovers Lane in Portage, MI. Then saw the same unit traveling east on Centre Street near Oakland Drive also in Portage, MI. This time I was pulling our A/S west on Centre Street heading for the US-131 northbond on-ramp. We are at the Kamp Across from The Dunes campground, (Across from Warren Dunes State Park) we are not the only A/S. There is what I am guessing is a 70's unit. We'll have to find the owners tomorrow and ask them the year.
Derek
P.S. I have also noticed another A/S in the Portage area, this one is behind a garage on South Westnedge Street.

That AS is about 15 miles from my home. I would love to be able to have mine parked there, even though I have a rear bedroom.
You can bet one of my single beds would have to get lost so a recliner would fit.
Great view.

airstream ? in safford, az
i just spent 4 days up at roper lake state park in safford,az. this trailler was on the roadside along rte 191.
couldn't tell if it was actually an airstream or maybe a silver streak.
i'm sure someone out there knows the details.
anyone?

That a Streamline trailer. Probably a 1965 or 66. Not sure of the model though. That swamp cooler on top looks very aerodynamic!

53 Tradewind
Spotted at New Brighton State Beach, CA. (Near Santa Cruz) on August 21. We were just walking through the campground and spotted some silver in the woods.

Older A/S with red letters, I didn't write the numbers down so I am not sure this is correct, but I believe it was 16741.

Must be a newer member...the last WBCCI directory I have is from '06, and 16741 isn't listed.

Saw two this weekend on RT 87 just south of Payson, AZ, a new Airstream Saturday (about 25 ft) and a 70s Airstream (about 25-27 ft) today.

On the way to Tulsa this afternoon westbound on I-44, caught a glimpse of a tiny Airstream going eastbound. Not sure what it was, it only had one window on the streetside and I swear it wasn't over 12' long! Smaller than a Bambi! But definitely an Airstream!

airstream sightings
Spotted two Airstreams in a yard on my way home from Cairo, Illinois today. One was a 1969-1978 Tradewind and the other was an older -- probably 1960s 20-22 foot coach. Both appeared to be in use as storage units. They were located near New Grand Chain, IL on Route 37.

Cameron's Pub
Saw this beauty behind Cameron's Pub in Half Moon Bay, CA. I think I've seen it before because the blue rims look familiar.

Hi All -
We've spied several over the past few days...
Friday;
- 30' Excella in Chatfield SP
- Excella w/ maroon trim headed south on I25 into Denver
- 60's Caravel south I25 south of Ft. Collins
- Newer 25' or 27' International headed East on I80 (west of Cheyenne)
Saturday;
- Bambi headed SE on I84 north of Brigham City
- What looked like a Limited (but wasn't fast enough to see) SE I84 south of Snowville
- only the roof-line of an AS headed west on 30 into Twin Falls
Sunday;
- 70's 28-30 footer at rest area dump station in Prosser(?)
All the best -

Returning to the lake (where Henri the 1974 31' Sovereign lives) we spotted two interesting AS items on a dealer's lot on Highway 7 in Carelton, Ontario, as we passed by. Now, it was about dusk, and the light was failing fast, but from what I could see, this 1985 34' Sovereign is a beaut:
Skin looked really good, and it has the inside layout I like the best: "Queen"-size bed in the rear, in the "walk-around" style, centre bath (and about 2.8 tons of storage), and up front it had the usual rear-facing gaucho, PLUS the cushy-looking dinette. Oh, and enough floor space to give dance-lessons between the gaucho and dinette.
All this for C$10,990, which seemed reasonable, however, the interior was only in shadows, so who knows what condition it was in.
They also had an AS moho that also looked in good shape, but I've no idea of the year or again, the condition, for C$23,990
Now, why I find this newsworthy enough to talk about here is that since I bought my unit back in April, I have not seen ONE interesting AS for sale in this region at all, and now two show up at a SOB dealer I pass by at least three or four times a month.
Ya never know, do you?
