Lois here.
Early tomorrow we're heading out on the road for Dekalb, IL (taking our well-loved Alluminotti with us). Hubby gets a kick outta me when I see an airstream on the road. I turn into such a geek. Oh...wait... I am a geek! I totally spazz out when I see one. LOL!

North West Ohio Sighting

Just wanted to express my appreciation for this thread. I definitely get it. That little excitement each time you see an Airstream going the other way. This is a recent afliction or obsession for me, but it seems less detrimental than many obsessions that are available now days. Its probably even healthy.
This is a great place to record your sightings. I even check the thread for a couple of days after we move our A/S, to see if we were sighted. Special thanks to pinkflamingoes for getting it started and checking in on it frequently.
In the last two days, business took me from Pittsburgh to Cleveland to Toledo and back to Pittsburgh. I decided to keep track of my A/S sightings. Rolling stock only, so I won't mention the Argosy sitting in a front yard on Ohio 250 south of Sandusky. In about 500 miles, I spotted 15 SOBs, 17 MoHos, 4 popups, 6 fifth wheels and 1 A/S. It was a beautifully polished 1965 - 1969 Globe Trotter (5 panel w/ oval running lights). It was westbound on Ohio 2, just west of the Catawba Island exit (124). No numbers and with a closing speed of 130 mph, those few shining seconds were focused on the aluminum, and I completely missed the tow vehicle. Although I'm sure there was one. I expect I'll get better at this. If that was you, thanks, and great job on your A/S.

Saw two older AS traveling together down the Oklahoma Turnpike (I-44) this week. They were polished and looked just great. I have no idea as to the years but I know they had the rimless windows similar to my 1967. It was a thrill to see them on the road.

About 8 hours of driving, a pad and pen on the console, and I also got in three conference calls. I only heard those center line rumble strips once...

Thanks, Mike for pointing that out. I'm pretty much an e-dinosaur when it comes to e-mail kind of things, so I guess I can admit it took two tries. The first one is probably still orbiting, like an asteroid ready to send the e-dinosaurs into extinction.

Rare Find

Hi, I found this rare jewel in downtown LA. Well actually it was inside the front door to the Petersen Museum.

Thanks! It looks like it just rolled out of the factory door. What a beautiful restoration!

I saw a late model AS exiting I-71 northbound at I-76 / US 224 near Lodi OH this afternoon around 4:30 - tooted my horn at the driver and I got a wave from him.
