We wnet to dinner last night and saw a newer three axle classic 30+ feet long and a vintage 20+ maybe in the same lot at the Eastside Market. The vintage A/S was surrounded by chainlink fencing eith some greenery for sale. Have to go back over that way today and will get a pick and visit if there is still anyone there.

Spotted 2 on the road over the last couple of days, one on the 4th at the intersection of hwys 60 and 71 west of Neosho, turning north on 71; ( and older 7 panel? nicely polished), the second one yesterday on I-44 headed west , east of Joplin, (we were going east) towed by a red pickup. Sorry, no details, too fast and far away. Also passed one going east on I-44 from Tulsa, blue SUV, on July 1. Airstreams on the move!

Passed three Airstreams at different times this afternoon. They were all heading west on Hwy 70 west of St. Louis, MO. Most notably was WBCCI 1414 that was nicely polished.

I'm not sure of the participant numbers but there were not that many that are going the whole 3,000 miles. Anyone was free to jump in the convoy and go for as many miles as they wanted. They were fed and entertained by various hte VFW, American Legion, AmVets, and other civic groups that like veterans.

The last I checked they group was in Cheyenne, WY. They are a lot tougher than I am!

Picking up some fourth of July supplies on Friday and the girls scream "Airstream!". Yes a small vintage towed by a dark full size truck rolled on through the Pavilions lot in Long Beach. We all waved and he waved back. MY 13 year old freaked when I suggested we follow him so we could chat. Teenagers!

On Saturday morning I saw what looked to be a mid '60s Overlander at the Leesport Diner in Leesport, PA. The Wally numbers were 2224 and the membership book lists those numbers as being from Kansas.

On Sunday (7/12) we spotted an Airstream heading East on US 30 in East Liverpool, Ohio. Just at the southern end of Ohio 11. We were headed out for a picnic in the TR-6 with the top down, so closing speed was relatively fast. I only had time to wave over the windscreen but not time to see a response. We're thinking it was a 70's or early 80's Tradewind being pulled by a pickup (light blue - I think).

Then there three

On I-35, Valley View, Texas....60 miles north of Ft. Worth....they still have a late model Bambi sitting on the lot....been there a long time and was used as a week end place on the lake while the house was being built. Its for sale. There is a late model Safari in the work area at the same place...also been here for a long time. Then....there is a 60 t0 65 Bambi, stripped out and very poorly polished...Bad...Bad....Bad....sitting out behind the shop. Same owner as the other Bambi. This is an RV shop/sales business.

Saw a nicely polished 70's Airstream being towed by a red Dodge (I think) pulled over on the side of Illinois 294, just west of the Indiana/Illinois boarder, this morning. I think they were taking pictures of the huge limestone quarry that the highway straddles there. I was traveling in the opposite direction, so didn't get any numbers (I didn't see any). Was about 24 foot or so. Nice!

A Land Yacht being pulled by a red pickup exited I-44 at Exit 8, coming from the east, onto Range Line in Joplin, yesterday as we were coming home from Roaring River pulling our Argosy. Missouri plates, didn't get any other info.

Yesterday I spotted a short twin axle 'stream towed by a dark colored Ford truck headed west on I-20, almost to Vicksburg. I think I spotted an oval Forums sticker in the rear window of the trailer!

Busy day for Airstreams on the road today. I spotted one after another today while driving west bound on I-90 from Ephrata, WA to Seattle. First a motorhome...thought of ScrapIrony right off but I know they arn't here in Washington...then I spotted a newer model at Thorp's Fruit Stand...the a little further down the road I saw a vintage getting tanks dumped at the rest area off I-90, caught a just the top of another going the eastbound direction and finally I saw half an Airstream...yup half... sitting in someone's yard was one poor Airstream that was missing her front half entirely

Saturday.

Hi, yesterday on our way North to Los Angeles, on the 5 freeway, we passed a green Expedition towing a Bambi. License on the Bambi was "08 BAMBI" California plate.

found one for sale

Spotted a mid seventies Tradewind for sale while motorcycling in West Va this weekend. The owner is asking $2500. That sounds a bit steep to me but I might have to look closer anyway

Argosy Ozark Mo

I spotted an Argosy on the backroads of our home...Looks to be in good shape skin wise. I will go back later and ask o see it and take more pictures..It looked to be a 25' with a 10" or so panel on the sides. It had an awning on the curb side and the front 2 windows on the street side.

We saw one last evening around 6pm heading south on the 101 near Warner Rd in Chandler while we were en-route to the storage facility. It looked like a late 60's Safari, I believe it was a single axle. Was being towed by a white pickup looked to be a pretty nice trailer, it looked like it may have been missing the rear trunk door.

Poplar Bluff, Missouri

I saw a twin axle airstream, tv had Arkansas plates, parked at 11:45 for lunch at the A&W Root Beer/Long John Silver's, here in Poplar Bluff. We're getting ready to head for Texas in our 32' Excella Friday afternoon. Going thru Tulsa, OK to pick up one granddaughter, Dallas for another granddaughter, then down to Galveston for the week.
Regards,
Steven

Central CA Airstreaming

On June 17, we were towing South 101 down the Gaviota Pass and were passed by a beautiful little restored Bambi(?) towed by a white Toyota Tacoma. They waved and we honked. Made that grade a lot more fun.
Also saw two Airstreams (one a Safari like ours) in the Lopez Lake campgrounds, on June 16, San Luis Obispo County.
And, my little girl spotted one parked in a neighborhood adjacent to Dinosaur Caves Park, just north of Pismo.
There is also an Airstream motorhome visable from the 101 in La Conchita.
