double sighting

As I entered the 405 South here in Long Beach, CA I saw not one, but two Silver Beauties! One was a newer Safari towed by a Chevy truck. The other a bit older, maybe an International, towed by a tan Tundra. The Safari went off down the 22 and the other continued down south on the 405. Happy travels and thanks for my Sunday afternoon cheer-up!

Roaring River

Just came back from Roaring River State Park in Missouri, there was an Excella Classic in campground 3. Didn't look at the license plate, sorry, didn't think about it until after we left. And while we were out fishing, a couple left a note at our trailer that they had an Argosy also, with a phone # but there is no phone service down there so we couldn't call them while we were there. We drove around to the other campgrounds but didn't see another Argosy.

I just got back from a business trip. I covered a lot of highway and didn't see an A/S on the road.

I did see the following:

Saw 3 today! And one is for sale. We went to an estate sell this morning and I almost ran off the road when I spotted Aluminum! It was on a dead end road. They have a 1950's Wee Wind (not for sale, i tried), a 1972 Overlander with mid twins ( this one is for sale) and B-van that the lady said her mom and dad use. Funny we have looked everywhere for A/S and 3 just about a mile form us. The Overlander is in good conditon but it needs an inverter and axle's from what we could tell. It has new mattresses from clinton bedding. New Upholstery in front. They bought a Jayco 5th wheel to replace it, geezz! Anyway, if anyone is interested, I can get the phone number.

Today was a great Airstream spotting day. We had one with us, a 75th anniversery, in the AB Campground in Cheyenne today (we probably met the owners in the tornado shelter last night ). On our way to the Walmart a new Bambi passed us and we both waved. At Walmart we parked next to the 310 and we saw another new Bambi headed east on I-80!

Cool Airstream as mobile mammogram unit

On my way home from running errands, a MH pulled up behind me at a light, saw the word AIRSTREAM in my rearview mirror and was SO excited!

Pulled into the next lane and went as slow as I could to get a look at it, and it was a mobile mammogram unit for a hospital about 1.5 hours away.

I was headed to Little Rock this morning and saw an AS being towed south on I-530 around mm17 about 10:45. I was talking to Mom and Dad on the phone, so could not flash and wave, sorry!

Airstream Sightings

Hi, My wife and I ride a tandem bicycle from our home in Lakewood. Ca. to Seal Beach, Ca. for fun and exercise. [about 20 miles round trip] I once read a story about an Airstream in Seal Beach, so today we found it and I took a few pictures of it. The short version of the story, and not perfectly accurrate, is: In this old trailer park in Seal Beach, Ca. the owner of this Airstream wanted more room and got the city to approve a remodel consisting of adding a building onto the Airstream. The agreement was that the trailer part of the house had to contain the kitchen and bathroom. The owner was some sort of designer, I believe, and built this one of a kind trailer/house. Someone saw this house and wanted to buy it. The owner said it was not for sale. But when he heard the offer, he changed his mind and sold it. But now the original owner of this house now owns the whole trailer park. [oops, my finger got into one of the pictures. Little camera/phone and big hands.]

^^^^^^ Such a shame. I hate to see a poor Airstream suffer the fate of being stuck in one spot for the rest of its life.

I saw 2 airstreams near Alex Bay NY on Tuesday. I met one headed north on Rt 12 about a mile out of town. The other one was parked at the Welcome Center at the foot of the Thousand Islands Bridge. Both were being towed with a suburban type vehicle and both streams had a blue stripe around the middle and 25-30' long. There was a rally in Canada last weekend, maybe they were headed home from there.

Early 70s Trade Wind headed east on I-20 through Columbia this afternoon while I was heading to work. If the owner is on here, I was the guy in the lowered black VW honking and waving.

Never know what lies around the next bend...

Had to stop and take a photo.
Airstream’s original tongue and coupler is still in place and attaches to this ‘thing’.
The scary (but at least salvageable) part is that the thing bolts on. Someday, if the poor Airstream survives, it might be put back together.
